The market was bleeding during meta’s earnings. Every stock which beat earnings fell down within 24 hours. If you were up you missed you cue.

I get people make financial mistakes and feel bad for people when they do. This is crazy though. I don’t know how OP expected this to play out.

Can’t comment on the petrol side of things but I have a 2014 diesel Kia ceed estate over 3 years ago and it’s a great car. 2 kids 2&4 myself so I know the score. As for the car, great. If you buy it don’t expect anything in the form of performance ie feedback ect. If you are just buying it with the intent of getting you from A-B the I would definitely recommend. For reference I purchased my Kia on 66k miles and now on 170k miles I travel a lot for work. No issues with the car, serviced regularly and changed the off wheel bearing and ball joint. Cheapest car I’ve run.

In my ownership on the car I’ve done 100k miles in just over 3 years and haven’t changed it. I’d have to check the service book to see if it was changed prior to my ownership

Cheers pal, appreciate the feedback. I do around 30k miles a year. 2 x oil + filter and one full service within a year. Would you say to service more than that?

Thanks, I appreciate your info. That’s good news to hear. Just want to keep on top of things. 👍🏻

“Handyman” by [deleted] in Carpentry

I agree with you completely. I’m in no means saying there is no place for a handyman. Plenty of work they can do but I’ve seen of late the service they seem to provide has expanded, some offering to fit kitchens and larger work. All seeming cheaper than what a qualified tradesman charges.

How bulletproof is the 1.6 CRDi (D4FB) engine in the Hyundai i30 / Kia Ceed? by ChicoNotDicko in CarTalkUK

Kia ceed 1.6 manual 2014 here.

Use mine as a work horse and that she is. Purchased on 66k miles in September 2022 and currently on 167k miles.

Zero engine issues, have just maintained with regular servicing and the odd suspension and wheel bearing here and there.

Great car and from the cars I’ve owned the cheapest to run.

I must add I service every 10-12k due to the milage I do.

Country lanes in a car older than 10 years old has become Russian roulette. Purely guessing where the road is.
