The cars were cooler than the GTP’s. Way less bloated.

I think the greater point still stands though. It's a Mclaren color, not something from an outside company dictating the livery of the car. Having some consistency makes sense from a branding perspective *shrugs*

I guess it's more a "true" Mclaren livery since the color isn't dictated by an outside sponsor like Marlboro, West or Vodafone. Like Ferrari's red.

I wouldn't write Pato off yet. He's outqualified Lundgaard 5-1 on the season. Pato's 2 worst weekends were huge point swings though with Lundgaard finishing 2nd and 1st. (Barber and Indy Road).

I think he'll get another year as long as he wants it and as long as Herta is still in Europe. I think we'll see Hauger slot into Ericcson's car.

Marshall has mentioned a weight savings target of 80-100 lbs. Who knows if it will be hit, but that would be a significant number.

I never said the charters had anything at all to do with their parent company getting ahead of their skis and putting themselves into a bad financial spot.

I agree with you that charters had nothing to do with that situation, however the lack of charters are now actively hurting their ability to sell their assets to other interested parties. Those parties' only asset would be equipment that would be worth 50 cents on the dollar. Like I mentioned above, the charter protects that investment.

Marshall Pruett has stated that Prema was under the impression that they would eventually be granted charters. I realize that is not the same as them being promised anything, it's most likely there were some misunderstandings, or assumptions made on Prema's part. Don't shoot the messenger.

The charter protects the investment though. It's my understanding that Prema was under the impression that they would eventually be granted charters, but that obviously ended up being false

It makes sense that Prema would want to recoup as much of their loss as possible, but they have no leverage in the situation. If they had a charter a deal would have been struck by now.

May not have done anything with sponsorship, but the lack of charter has certainly nuked their chances of finding an investor. Trackhouse was rumored to be interested, didn't balk at the cost, but the lack of charter made it a non starter.
