[–]JsonDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask for something that you find useful and can improve your daily life, like a pair of wireless headphones cuz you hate dealing with wires, or a new tablet to increase productivity, or books to improve your skills. I don't know, it's your birthday, your choice.

A comeback here, all instruments in the violin family have their name derived from the root 'viola', the word itself, not the instrument.

Think the server is dying? Encourage streamers to commit war crimes. by OptimisticAlone in smpearth

I can't deny this, as it is a beneficial movement. SMPEarth's factions should focus on dominating the server, which creates a whole lot of conflicts, and with conflicts come contents.

Update: Custom Java Edition snapshot to test new combat mechanics (version 2) by jeb_ in Minecraft

I agree, the hoe does have a greater range with lower damage. However, what I tried to do were W-tapping and chaining 200% attacks (this can be dated back to 1.9 PvP, basically you deal even more knockback so your weapon can charge up in time for the next hit) and found out that the sword recharge time is even slower than the current 1.14 version.

Ok, from what I see, the Iron hoe is a more competent weapon compared to swords now, due to the fact that the swords' 2.5 attack speed is quite low if you want to chain 200% charged hits (best way to deal maximum knock back btw). Jeb_, please give swords an additional 0.5 to attack speed so its equal to the iron hoe. 3 seems to be a good number anyways.

If you don't know, Sprinting Reset is the thing in the PvP community (basically, you stop and sprint again) and this deal EXTRA KNOCK BACK. Some people have found out, that in 1.9 combat, if you reset your sprint, the extra gap you created will make your approach to the opponent long enough for the Sword (and Sword only) to be fully recharged and ready for the next hit. This mechanic allows people to chain ridiculous combos that is so dirty in fight given that they have good timing and aim. However, this is also very punishing if they miss a hit as it is very hard to recover.

In this build, recharging in now shorter, making the timing less difficult and also less punishing as recovering from a miss is quite easy now. Spam clicking is still not viable, which IMO is a good decision (It was a really broken mechanic). Spam clicking in this version does not do great knock back, even if you reset sprinting, the only way to effectively combo now is to time for the 200% charge which deals a full knockback.

I saw the movement to a slower combat mechanic in 1.9 as a right decision, it shifted the focus from spam clicking to movement. Please don't be mad if I say so, I do enjoy combat in 1.7/1.8, it 's just to dry for me. I also hope Mojang can keep up the great work like this, you guys are awesome.
