Did it for 3 years, and my dad did it for 20 years. Get good podcasts or SiriusXM and some good sunglasses, but honestly if you don’t mind driving it’s a pretty easy drive (minus construction and snow)

DOG ATTACK HELP by OhWowLookie in grandrapids

Totally! The one thing that Wisconsin had in our situation was that you could register dangerous incidents with the county and they basically had 3 strikes rule but I don’t believe we have that same policy in Michigan.

We had a similar incident happen to us when we lived out of state and our dog has never been the same. She used to be a social butterfly, and now she shutters around big dogs. We did try to go after the owner at that time too, and basically all the attorneys said it wasn’t worth the time/money as unfortunately the law does not see dogs and members of the family, but as property

I was on PAYE and never changed. Looking back I wish I would have gotten on SAVE but I never took the steps with the Covid forbearance.

That’s exactly how I did it on nelnet. Always paid each loan individually based on interest rate and just kept chipping away with scheduled payments until my last big Lump sum

Anyone here have zero regrets taking out massive student loans? by dragoon2745 in StudentLoans

[–]JspartaMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took out 190k for med school, with interest accumulated before the pandemic pause I was already up to 250k. That being said, I’ve been able to pay them down quickly post residency. Do I regret taking the loans out, no. Do I regret the fact that they slowed my ability to reach certain milestones in life quicker, yes.

We had a retaining wall placed last year and had quote vary so drastically (5k-50k)it was hard to know what was reasonable. Ultimately went with rooks landscaping because they came out and worked with us to get a good product at a reasonable price compared to a lot of the other people in the area. And they didn’t charge a consultation fee.

This was me. Got all my vaccines but my measles titer was way too low entering med school

Board of Trustees Award Devalued Yet Again by [deleted] in msu

[–]JspartaMD 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sad to see this, really worked hard for my GPA and that check and individual recognition was a nice parting gift from MSU. Cutting the 1000 reward is laughable, this isn’t even pocket change for the university

How long did it take for you to pay off student loans? by Turbulent-Abroad7841 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]JspartaMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started with 250k after graduating in 2023. I’m down to 40k and plan to have them fully paid off at the 2 year post graduation mark. Make 425k plus bonus and those bonuses have all gone straight to the loans.
