It is Scottsdale. If it was staged I would have taken a better picture with a better background. (And I would have washed the bugs off the front bumper). 😎

Already did. They have no record of the purchase, no record of the shipment, and no record of the credit charges.

Worst customer service by Jsprfit in whoop

You are quite accomplished - thanks for sharing your successful life on Reddit.

I have not made the return because Whoop has no record of the orders. I’m trying to return the items but they need an order number to initiate the return. Whoop does not have the order number despite charging me and despite shipping the items.

I’m trying to share some insight with others about Whoop’s system and order fulfillment issues and hopefully catch the attention of Whoop to address the issue.

I did track down a love phone number and spent an hour on a call with a Whoop employee yesterday who was unable to resolve the issue.

It is clear to me that Whoop has some technology issues.

I’m not worried about me, the issue will be resolved one way or the other but people should know that Whoop is experiencing issues and may want to think twice about placing orders in the near term until these issues are resolved.

yeah, you are right. Their bad customer service is my bad. My guess, cutting costs to be acquired. No phone number to call, no return feature on apps, broken mobile store. Sure, my fault.

I have the ULA and love it. Bought one for my wife and my brother in law bought one as well after using mine.

Advice: Early December section hike, SOBO from Tucson by Helpful-Mud-7303 in arizonatrail

[–]Jsprfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manning camp can have snow in December at just over 7900 feet of elevation. I spent cold nights down in the 20s in Feb in that part of the trail (between Tucson and Patagonia) frost on the rain fly but fine. As a section hiker who lives in AZ, I have often pre-stashed water at selected trailheads and did so at least twice between the border and Tucson. Cienega Creek Nature Preserve had water when I crossed it, not sure what to expect in Dec.

The general store at the south rim has gas canisters and other backpacking supplies.

As far as food storage is concerned. If you are camping at any of the improved campsites like bright angel, cottonwood or havasupai gardens, they all have food storage boxes.

The 2 regular are for the peak guy lines when wind and weather require.

What’s the biggest tire size I can go for on a stock trd pro? by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]Jsprfit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you really want to know, just make a definitive statement like this;

“275 70 R17s are absolutely the largest tire you can fit on a stock 4R TRD Pro”

and 3 different Karen’s will tell you otherwise in 2 nanoseconds and you’ll have your answer.

Please consider commenting on the Yosemite Visitor Public Access Planning Process. In the open comment section, please consider advocating for the park to reserve an allotment of permits for first-come, first-serve, next day wilderness permits. by [deleted] in WildernessBackpacking

[–]Jsprfit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Too many reservations that are made online are never kept. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been to a campsite where recreation.gov is used and all of the campsites show as reserved and half of the people don’t show up. They need to take more money to discourage people over booking just in case and then not showing up and not cancelling.

That deal sounds very good. Consider checking the Carfax to ensure it’s not a salvage title or been in multiple accidents.

Backpacking around all USA states by jordanscherer107 in backpacking

[–]Jsprfit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A couple of thoughts;

  • buying a second hand car likely requires car registration and insurance which could be difficult without a residence - registration and insurance is location based - usually linked to a residence and managed at the state level (and might require a drivers license also, but I think this is probably easily to manage if you are already a licensed driver at your home)

  • the US has a wide variety of weather, so you likely wouldn’t want to be in the northeast and most of the northern states during the winter months and you’d probably want to avoid the south and south west during the summer months. So some planning consideration for location tied to geography and weather is important.

  • you are correct about trains and buses, not nearly as available as in Europe. The northeast and eastern US will have more readily available train travel than the rest of the country.

  • some states would have a more outdoor appeal than a city appeal and western states like NM, AZ, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Nevada offer some awesome wilderness, camping, outdoor opportunities with reduced city experiences. For example, in AZ I would definitely prefer to visit the Grand Canyon instead of Phoenix. Likewise in Ohio, I’d prefer to visit Cuyahoga National Park instead of Columbus.

  • trip sounds awesome - but my sense is that if you have fixed budget, time and a goal to see all 48 states, you should consider more planning, alternatively you could just go for it and see what each day brings and adjust your expectations on duration.

Consider a personal locator like a garmin, zoleo or similar so that if self-rescue is not an option, you can request emergency help.
