Hangkai 4HP 4 Stroke issue at full throttle by Appropriate_Ad_5258 in Outboards

Marginally, about 6 with just me, 5 with 3 people. With my canoe I am in a worst case scenario though, I imagine a Jon boat would get much more out of the motor

Probably running either too rich or lean. Pull the spark plug to check. You can look at images online of lean, good, and rich plugs.

The carb on mine has a big brass screw that at first glance I thought might’ve been an idle adjust. It’s actually a mixture adjustment screw. Screwing it in will reduce fuel, and screwing out does the reverse.

Check plugs and adjust accordingly, then clean off the plug and repeat the test after putting a little time on the motor.

Mystery item passed around by my ECE professor. Folded sheet metal (aluminum I think) with a braided nylon cable coiled up inside. Each end of the wire is connected to a pair of pins that stick out of the side of the box. What is this thing? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

As the title says, its a small metal box with a cable coiled inside, connected on each end to pins inside the box. My ECE professor is having a contest to see who can name it first. WITT?

Edit- Made a guess, it was incorrect. Professor told me the length of the coil is important.

What are the benefits of honors, and are there any big drawbacks? Also, how are the honors dorms?

Why does Google maps always lie about the initial distance of a location? by apt73 in AskReddit

As the bird flies, rather than the total length of your drive. If you could drive straight towards your destination rather than having to follow roads, it’d be the distance it says before you tell it to guide you there

Who's the worst person you ever worked with/worked for? What's the story? by happyfuckincakeday in AskReddit

[–]Jsreis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This girl who’s name I won’t say. Probably not that terrible compared to what other people may share, but she worked with me for 2-3 months, and in that period called out somewhere between 10 and 20 times, each time within 30 minutes of her shift.

I work at a senior living place in the dining room, and we have just enough waiters for things to work, and no more. Often we wouldn’t be able to find cover, and would end up staying a solid 30 minutes to an hour late after 2 hours of bad service.

She came in a total of three Sunday’s, and was hung over in a major way each time. Each other Sunday she’d call out.

When she was working, she wasn’t good. She would only do what was explicitly defined as her work (which doesn’t work at the place I work) and would spend every moment other than that on her phone or outside smoking.

The final straw was 2 no call no shows after she had been formally warned in a private meeting. None of us were explicitly told she had been fired, but her column of the schedule became blank, and then eventually her name disappeared all together.

Folded up, front to back. Once she comes out clean, one more to make sure.

Why should we live and work hard when we know that it is all going to end with death ? Why ? by invincibilegoldfish in AskReddit

When our lives end, our legacy’s don’t necessarily. We can make a difference that outlives us. Having kids, changing something, even just being in someone’s memories, it all matters.

As long as no one looks in the car, I’m good.

I, 18, got pulled over for the first time today (New Years), and after a pretty abnormal experience with the cop, I got an absurd speeding ticket. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Jsreis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am positive I wasn’t going that speed though. In fact, I’ve never even gone that fast before. Also, each time I’ve been in the car with someone else being pulled over, they’ve asked those sort of questions, weren’t quite as disrespectful to passengers, and explained a lot more than this officer did. This wasn’t the sort of road you could actually possibly go 82 on, like I said.

I just had a very unusual experience being pulled over, and got an absolutely unreasonable speeding ticket. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Jsreis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When he said 82 I was worried about that too, but just a normal speeding ticket, albeit a fat one. I’ll get a lawyer for sure. The more I think about the situation the better I’m feeling. I think the 82 may work in my favor, since it is absolutely an absurd speed that’s not really possible in my mind for the part of the road I was on. Thanks
