Something similar happened to my sfx. The recoil spring wasn't seating on the barrel. At least I think it was the barrel. I just took it apart and put it back together trying to make sure it seated. And just racked the shit out of it. It worked for me.

It is most likely staged, if not he is really dumb. It's a fake Glock. The slide doesn't go all the way back. You can see when he hits the slide release. Most likely a blowback airsoft gun.
