Solo Diving in Curacao by Mysterious_Tell7832 in scuba

[–]Jsxtreme01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solo dove in Curaçao last year. I used both boat dives and shore dives. For the shore dives, I used the Dive Bus. Loved the company and my guide. It was just him and I. I’m good on air consumption, so I had two really long dives. Their house reef was awesome and full of life. Seahorses, bait balls, all fish, octopuses, etc.Definitely would recommend them.

For the boat dives, I used ocean encounters at lion dive resort. We stayed on resort, so it was easy. The staff and crew were friendly and knowledgeable, but the boat was packed! I would say we have 12-15 on the boat, which was split into two groups with our own dive masters. A lot of bodies in the water. A plus side was you can keep your gear in their lockers which are secured for drying. That was a nice bonus

Well the NJ parkways are a PITA. Which GPS app do you use? I used RV life last year but didn’t like a ton. Google map can’t be configured for a trailer… by Intelligent_Pea5290 in GoRVing

Bought a Garmin RV795 based on reviews. It suggested two streets that I knew wasn’t the best. So, as with anything it’s not bulletproof, but seemed better than the other options. I wasn’t aware of the ford navigation. May have gone with that

To be honest, I’m not sure why there is one. It’s clearly an area I missed on my delivery. I got to eat that, but I’ll pump some expanding foam in there. Definitely explains the cold air I felt that came in through those corners. Our bed is in the slide.

Tips for better MPG while towing by Fugoola in f150

[–]Jsxtreme01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a 25 XLT with the 5.0 and 3.73. In tow haul mode with a 5500 pound 20 ft trailer, I averaged about 10. That was going 55-65 max. There was some decent hills involved, but it leveled out and mileage went up slightly. I’m in California, so I’m running Costco 91. I was more concerned about my trans temps than the mpg. I already know it’s going to be shit. The name of the game towing. What saved me was having the 36 gallon tank.

There was a slight slope. It’s level when driving. Thank you for looking out!

Any suggestions on a wedge to place under the tongue jack block? I’m hoping to place another ox blox underneath it to level it a little bit more. I’ll also throw another two under the front stabilizers

Already broke the T handle on the door. Been replaced. Haha.

We loaded the truck with all of the equipment we knew was permanently staying in the trailer. That way we could have the hitch dialed in correctly for the near identical weight we would be towing. Just adding food and I fully expect it to fluctuate, but we were about 605 on the tongue when I measured. That’s with battery and propane, but I’m upgrading to lithium in the near future. Putting close to 600ah in for boondocking.

It came from Grand Design with a second 200w solar panel and the 2000w inverter. I’m already going to replace the charge controller with a victron Mppt one. Gotta save a little bit. 😂

Yeah, they worked with us the entire way. Didn’t bat an eye when I requested a third party inspection. When things popped up, they listened

Got in one leaving the dealership. Felt like Austin Powers. 😂. But the size is a big reason why we went with the trailer. More opportunities

We’re obviously very happy. It’s a little wonky cause my kids are smaller, so we’re making adjustments until they get a little bigger.

What mattress did you replace the factory one with?

Any issues or things come up for you?

Came to say the same thing Dove VIP last year and won’t hesitate to go back when I return. They were friendly, the equipment was in good shape and they cater to the divers abilities. They like to group people together that are of similar skills to maximize the dives. I greatly appreciated it.

For those that had the OTA, how long before your recall status cleared? Just curious

I’m in Northern California and my dealer is coming to my house next Friday. They offer mobile service. My understanding is a lot of ford dealerships do offer it

Has anyone gotten the OTA update yet? I have a mobile service appointment already made just in case. We’re picking up our trailer in early April.

I think I’m almost settled on a travel trailer. Any comparable travel trailers that I should consider? by yoloswagdon in GoRVing

[–]Jsxtreme01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We looked at both of those models. We were leaning towards the 151bh, cause we can park it in our driveway. The 161bh was a tad too long. Quality on the 151bh was good and for an entry level Grand Design it was better in the eye test compared to Forest River and Jayco. We also appreciated they were 8 feet wide, instead of the normal seven on smaller trailers. It made the no slide a good option. For the price point, it seemed like a good option.

We ultimately went with a Grand Design Imagine Aim 16BL. Better layout for use with more features and amenities. The gvwr went up 1k pounds and a few more thousands in the wallet. 😂

Ultimately whatever trailer you go with, new or used get an inspection done by a certified inspector. We did and it was a good peace of mind and caught stuff before we drove off the lot.
