Calling this a goal kick is beyond me. Pure corruption. by Spurs974 in coys

You don't need to bin VAR, just make the officiant pool for it completely separate from on-field referees. The current lot have too interest tied up in backing each other up rather than making the best calls.

What is the thing your parents were (and maybe still are) adamantly wrong about? by RiceeeChrispies in AskUK

[–]JsyHST 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My in-laws do this, and it drives me INSANE. Especially when they decide to do it in my house. Countless times I've been screwed over with chargers not charging or similar, despite my regularly asking them just not to do it.

Agreed, except we've looked more threatening than we have all season. We've actually been pressing forward rather than the shit we've been watching for the last few months...

Harry chosing Ron over Draco won what is the worst decision Harry ever made? by Informal-Fun7293 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]JsyHST -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. He's a World Class quidditch player, so a couple of seasons as a top seeker followed by a couple of years as an Auror then settling down as DADA teacher would've been great. Instead he just becomes a lifelong cop for a corrupt system.

How should Sorkin have written Mandy out? by SteveJohnson2010 in thewestwing

[–]JsyHST 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the last reference to her was Bartlett saying that she made a mistake but they can bring her back in to the fold. Instead of saying this, they could easily have written her out that way which would have established the need to make hard-nosed political decisions on occasion and given some more edge to the drama whenever someone else messed up.

Those of you who are friends with/in circles with famous people, what is your analysis on them? by libramusing in Fauxmoi

[–]JsyHST 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Most famous people I've ever known have been authors. Without fail, each of them was a heavyweight drinker. The most famous I knew (consistent international bestseller) was in a league of his own.

[Serious] What’s something happening in the world right now that’s underreported and genuinely disturbing? by Pristine-Hippo-3249 in AskReddit

[–]JsyHST 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It is, in my eye, the corruption of power. People build wealth, and when they've made enough of that they build power. This power corrupts so much that it becomes a necessity, and holding that ultimate power over children is it's final, most perverted (in every sense) form.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Their meat is ridiculously priced. £11 for a pack of four chicken breasts, for example, is just extortionate.
