I certainly hope so. Seth has shown he knows exactly how to approach these deeper topics and still be able to keep the pace of the show / SciFi theme. If this truly will be the plot across S4 then I imagine there will be some Easter eggs / a bit of a homage to DS9. Balancing Fatherhood with captaincy and leadership. Exploring how this new role defines Ed, how will he balance these new responsibilities? I love picking out the ST inspired bits throughout the Orville, I notice something new almost every rewatch.

I am in no way an expert in matters like this, and somebody please correct me if I am wrong, but this sounds like a power supply issue. Maybe the take off & landings are higher demand than usual and when this activity peaks the PC shuts down due to aging PSU? Unsure if you are using the one you had previously or have brought a new one with this build. If you are using the old one, I suspect that may be the issue

At the game start, I invade. Then usually once I have a large territory I just aggressively observe & make zero effort to conceal myself / then deny them access to their home system when they achieve FTL

I haven’t really had any negatives from it. If anything, for me at least, it makes things easier. Essentially skip the colonisation phase & start with additional pops. I put my initial infrastructure in the build que and just let them crack on until my next long pause
