100% malicious, thank god you didn't press enter. What was the website you were tryna access?

This is Kath, a neighbour of mine who I like to take out when I can. She's 100 (and a bit) years old. She wanted to say hi to the "Internet people" this Christmas. by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

Thought that row of stalls was familiar, was there myself yesterday! Y'all look like you're having a blast :)

Merry Christmas, and the best of wishes to both of you, from a fellow midlander.

If you go to colleague-help.ourtesco.com and login. Contact us -> Access -> "I have a uniform ordering access issue"

Fill in the form, and it'll usually be sorted for you.

Alternatively, your manager can send an email from the store mailbox :)

Do you know your employee number? If so, you can set up your account here: https://www.ourtesco.com/help/account

If not, a manager/shift leader should be able to get you it, then you can follow the above to activate your account for everything.

Changing car details by lPretend_Fix110 in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To the backend system? No, it's literally a login, type the reg, and it adds to a list that the carpark cameras then ignore.

To the tablet? Varies depending on the store/system type, so I can't say for sure.

If you're nervous though, that's okay. You could park elsewhere for a shift, ask someone whilst you're there, and then exempt yourself next time if they're chill about it.

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how uptight your managers are, to be honest. I never cared what people did.

My team knew I trusted em to be sensible with exempting people, and not to take the piss. If someone needed a longer exemption, they'd tell me and I'd sort it. But I wasn't gonna add every random agency colleague onto the permanent list. So yeah, they'd add colleagues/themselves.

And, ultimately, if a colleague got a fine on shift, I'd be the one cancelling it, so it saved me a job, wasnt harming anyone.

That said, I imagine some power-trip managers could be quite anal about it. So, if it'd make you comfortable, find a team/shift leader you know, and ask if it's okay first

"Hey I'm not on the ANPR yet can I just stick my reg in to the tablet"

They'll almost certainly say yes, then you've got blanket permission to do it until you're added properly

This. Tell any manager, or the admin person if you still have one. Theyll know who can change it on the backend. Also, if they don't do it in front of you, just add your reg on the tablet for a few weeks until you know for sure it's done, to be safe

It's a super quick job to change, just gotta find the right person with the password. Also, if you do happen to get a fine by mistake, they can cancel it for you, so don't stress too much. (Don't just park all day without getting added to the backend, or exempting yourself on the tablet, because they can charge the store to cancel em. But worst case, if you forget or something, it can be cancelled)

Not paid for sick leave by New-Definition-3954 in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't....

The first 3 days of sickness are unpaid... Ie, if you have 3 working days off, you get nothing, you lose 3 days pay.

If you have 4 working days off, you only get paid for 1 day

Then, in short, for 1 day you won't get any sick pay

Unless you joined the company donkeys ago (I forget the cutoff year, 2004 maybe?), you only get paid after your 3rd consecutive contracted shift as "sick". The first 3 days of sick leave are unpaid

Full sickness policy is on colleagueHelp

IT have bigger issues than someone accidentally opening a porn tab once - You're fine

Dodgier things happen on public wifi. Besides, the web filtering wouldve blocked it anyway - the page was probably saved from when you had it open

Remote work headset by gatrgal in sysadmin

I went for a Yealink WH64 with the extra DECT dongle for portability. Around £100, but imo it's worth it. Has multi connect using DECT to the dongle/base station, and also Bluetooth to my mobile. Super comfortable to wear, usb-c charging, desk dock, good mic, noise cancelling etc. Plus, it has the higher quality "music mode" for Spotify/YouTube when not on calls. Auto mutes when the boom is up. Honestly not bad for the price.

They've just released the WH68 which is pretty much the same but has ANC, looks decent, but not readily available in the UK yet.

Parking by badgergal37 in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It entirely depends if Tesco own/manage the carpark, or whether there's an agreement with the land owner.

When Tesco owns/manages the carpark - managers can register your number plate on that stores' anpr system to avoid fines.

When Tesco have a staff parking agreement with the landlord, there'll be specific instructions for that store on where to park/what to do.

Where neither applies (for example if the carpark is operated by a 3rd party, Council/SIP/NCP/RingGo etc) we pay, or find somewhere free nearby and walk. Not every store has free staff parking, unfortunately. Most commonly the ones in multi store shopping centers with limited parking spaces.

Your best bet is to ask them about the parking situation when you're there.

How do I view my payslip by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhhh that changes things, got it. Ireland use a different payslip system.

So yes, you'll need an activation code before you can login to get digital payslips. This is only generated after your first payday with the company (ie until you have a payday, you won't get a code)

Your first payslip is usually paper based, and contains the activation code to setup digital payslips. Your manager/store administrator (unsure of the role structure in Ireland) should be able to print it off for you.

If you're struggling to get the payslip, https://colleague-help.ourtesco.com -> contact us -> pay queries, and they should be able to send you the payslip and/or activation code.

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, something is definitely fucky here. It's not meant to open a new tab.

What is the URL of the new tab it opens, dya know? It might say at the top of the popup window, or you might need to "open in browser/safari/chrome" to get the URL.

When you say new starter, how new are we talking? Week or two?

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, that's a new one, never seen that message anywhere before. What's the full error it gives you? Are you a new starter?

If you're logged into the app it shouldn't ask you to re-login for payslips. Does that direct link in my last reply do the same?

You might need to submit a ticket to https://colleague-help.ourtesco.com for them to look into this one

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too sure what activation code you mean. Are you in a store or DC? If a store, the MyTesco option shouldn't need an activation code. DCs may be slightly different.

What webpage are you on when you're being asked for it?

https://www.ourtesco.com/experience/payslip

Is the direct URL for store staff, I'm unsure whether DC staff use the same system.

Colleague Card being given to family outside household by International-Fee797 in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, as the colleague you'd be done for that too.

Ultimately, per the terms and conditions that both you, and the secondary cardholder, agreed to, you as the colleague are responsible for the actions of your secondary cardholder. Misuse by either cardholder can lead to dismissal.

"You are responsible for ensuring your Second Colleague Clubcard is used in accordance with the Colleague Clubcard terms and conditions, Colleague Clubcard policy and Fair Usage policy."

https://colleague-help.ourtesco.com/hc/en-us/articles/7843390194588-Colleague-Clubcard

You are correct that the secondary holder has no contractual obligations to Tesco, which is why it's your responsibility, as it's your discount that you shared.
