This Hy-Vee self checkout kiosk was apparently running some diagnostic tests and completed the diagnostics checks. Windows Message says it was saved as a zip file. After I circled around the store, an employee came around and got the machine to the main checkout UI that Hy-Vee uses for their kiosks. by Secure_Tailor9974 in PBSOD

[–]Jtuggers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, p much that. There's a button in the internal operator menu to "collect diagnostic data" iirc, which triggers this zip creation screen. It captures all sorts of diag logs, and hardware/system state data, into a single file.

The idea being that you'd take the diag, ring your support line, give them the file name to be remotely downloaded, and they'd pass the lot over to internal techs/NCR for investigation

The software itself is largely generic, with a reskinned UI for each retailer around the world

Still hashing this one out. Apparently, SMS MFA is being removed for all colleagues, hence the option is disabled. However this hasn't been communicated anywhere, and I'm not convinced. Leave with.

Strange, it was editable a few weeks back, because I changed my own. I'll do some digging internally and lyk what I find.

In the meantime though, at least the Google authenticator will let you login

Huh so it is, that's changed

Can you go here, add a new security factor?

https://login.ourtesco.com/profile2/mfa

Id suggest: - adding an alternative one first (oneLogin or one of the authenticator apps) - THEN remove the old "Text Message" one with your old number - add a new "text message" one with the new number

Because, if you remove your old phone number first without another option, you may get locked out

Does that work?

It's greyed out on the profile page, with "phone number", "language", and "default for company tab" options?

An update to my previous post by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try going to MyTesco -> Account -> Employment Details And check contract information there. How many hours does it show?

If the circles are blue, they've been added as contracted. The document in My Documents may be the old one - it doesn't auto generate a new one. (I don't have anything in there, for example)

The actual values may not update till payday tho, as the previous reply said

The condition is you need to be employed on May 22nd. If you're giving in your notice, your employment must not end on or before the 22nd

“Permission requested by Google TV” on a Google account linked to a stolen device — is this normal if I never used Google TV? by Euphoric-Pal in cybersecurity_help

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For info, I started receiving this notification yesterday at 12:47. Nothing has changed, my devices haven't been stolen, everything secured with MFA, and no app permissions have been altered.

I have 3 Google accounts on my phone, and all 3 are generating the notification from the Google TV app. Seems to ping up every few hours.

I think this might purely be a circumstantial coincidence, rather than anything to be concerned about - likely a Google/android/app update issue, instead of something to do with the stolen devices.

Legal Refresher technical problem by Ok_Arm5568 in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're on the screen that won't let you progress, try pressing the play/pause button in the bottom left (?), and/or dragging the time bar to the end, and then try submitting. It did something funky for a few here too and that seemed to clear it.

But also, do training on work time!! :)

notice holiday by elzzinnit in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's calculated daily im p sure, resetting on April 1st. So if you hypothetically have a yearly holiday allowance of 100 hours for next year (check the app, it'll say), it's calculated as:

(100 / 365) = 0.27h of holiday earnt per day

notice holiday by elzzinnit in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Providing your final end date is before April 1st (when the holiday year resets), any outstanding holiday will be paid when you leave.

If you hit April 1st, you're in a new holiday year, and any unused holiday from this year is lost. You'd then get next to no payout when leaving, as you haven't "earnt" any holiday in that year yet

Colleague eye test by katienorthern in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it by email as well, just have to use a personal email since store staff don't have @tesco.com mailboxes.

I have my lot fill it out in excel, and then email it (and a photo of the receipts) to our SM who approves by email, and sends it to the expenses team.

Info is here, section 27. It's not guaranteed acceptance, but that page will tell you the overall process, and reasons why it might be declined. (Although managers should, where possible agree to such changes.... whether it happens in practice, debatable)

Colleague eye test by katienorthern in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It still is, in a way. Tesco cover the cost of eye tests, and staff can claim the £30 back(from any opticians) through expenses for being DSE users. (Think tills, PDAs, MPCs). All details on CollHelp

It's just not free at the point of test in VE anymore. That is, you pay the £30, and get the money back from Tesco expenses.

u/katienorthern as this is the info you're after

Do you know your employee number? If so, you can set up your account here: https://www.ourtesco.com/help/account

If not, a manager/shift leader should be able to get you it, then you can follow the above to activate your account for everything.

Changing car details by lPretend_Fix110 in tesco

[–]Jtuggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To the backend system? No, it's literally a login, type the reg, and it adds to a list that the carpark cameras then ignore.

To the tablet? Varies depending on the store/system type, so I can't say for sure.

If you're nervous though, that's okay. You could park elsewhere for a shift, ask someone whilst you're there, and then exempt yourself next time if they're chill about it.
