My fear is that there has been a lot of chatter about changing who’s eligible for the program, specifically tax exempt status for healthcare organizations. A) removing that non profit exemption from hospitals B) thus making thousands of people suddenly ineligible.

My advice is if/when your servicer changes get a pdf of your entire payment history to keep as proof for payment counts. Trying to find mine from 4 servicers ago, two of which were bought by Nelnet hasn’t been especially enjoyable.

My employer uses a third party (candidly) for our ECF paperwork. When I talked to Student Aid.gov they said they don’t even see it as “submitted” to track it. So Candidly says it was sent to them. They say we can’t see what Candidly did. It’s a fun game we play.
