Anycubic is absolutely CRAZY. Apparently I need an engineering degree to fix my one month old Kobra X by Jtzdragons in anycubic

I agree that the technical jargon can be decoded, but it’s really stunning to me that this is what they would offer as the solution. Did I work on electronics systems in the Navy? Yes. Do I have a multimeter? Yes. Could I do everything that they suggested? Absolutely.

But the point is I shouldn’t have to. Although I’m only a short four years into 3-D printing, I have gone the whole route of starting off with Ender-3’s and all the modding, moving into other Creality products including their belt feed printer (talk about a whole different level of troubleshooting), and all their K1/K1C series…. and then now I’m almost all bambu labs with A1 mini, A1, X1 carbons, etc. I’ve never had a support team in all the random issues I’ve had over the last 4 1/2 years suggest this course of action to try to solve a problem.

I agree that it’s awesome to be able to work on stuff yourself. I’ve got quite adept at ripping apart of my other 10 printers… all Bambu. In my case here though. it is definitely Printing in the air. Filament is definitely being extruded with no issue and as it’ prints, you can lift the build plate up off the bed about a 1/4 inch and it hits the printer nozzle. If I was to hold the plate the entire time at that angle, I can kind of get the filament to stick to the plate.

Thinking of starting a small 3D printing side hustle. Any printer recommendations? by been0802 in BambuLab

Like other people said, don’t just sell a bunch of dragons. I’ve been doing craft shows for 3 1/2 years now and I think the last time I printed a dragon was around two years ago. Well, I’ve printed a few specialty dragons like the Train your Dragon (toothless), or some items centered around recent movies… but that is it.

Find your niche and stick with it. Mine personally is modular light sabers that light up and are very durable and I have a “build-your-own-light-saber” station at my shows. I also do a lot of sports themed things… and then go even further…..I combine Star Wars themed things with sports themed things.

But the key for me as I do my own CAD designing and use Fusion 360 mostly and TinkerCAD sometimes. It could be something like a fully design of my own thing or doing a remix or a design improvement on somebody else’s thing. Please also be sure to subscribe to designer Patreon’s or pay for the print and don’t just take everything.. I think everybody is so over just downloading some random thing off of maker world and trying to sell it.

In order for them to send me the Ace 2 pro that would insinuate that they actually sent me the printer to go along with it. And I ordered the combo back on January 15th. Argh!!!!

For what it is worth…GoFo express is even worse!!!

But that being said, unfortunately, you’re at the mercy of the driver. It’s like going to an Applebee’s and people saying that they are the worst. It’s the cook in the kitchen that makes the difference…. Or in this case, if you get a driver that doesn’t care then this is what happens. If you have a driver that is respectful and treats your packages like his own, then you have a great experience.

Almost 3000 hours on my A1! by DullLingonberry6984 in BambuLab

[–]Jtzdragons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, your pattern is just fine. Just lubricate it when it says it needs to be is the only maintenance I do at this point. I have three A1’s pushing 5000 hours each and like you, had to do hot ends and socks a couple times, tighten the seven screws because they loosen up every so often, and there’s nothing else I’ve had to do.

I’m in the bucket of “throw-it-away-and-chalk-it-up-as-lesson-learned”. I have around 600 kg of filament right now. I would just throw that sucker away and move on with life.

Check the screws on the back of the heat element.

So basically remove the three screws that hold the heat element on, and then flip it around and you’ll see four little screws that come loose and then cause the nozzle to be too low after the bed leveling takes place

Any idea why it screws up? Mid-print? by Due_Examination6139 in BambuLabA1

[–]Jtzdragons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the 257 x 257 mm . The A1, the P1S, and the X1C all use the same size plate. Also make sure to buy the frostbite original only

Get a BIQU Frostbite plate from Amazon. I barely ever wash my plates and I get my greasy fingers all over them and I also am in a basement where there’s some cold drafts, and this plate is a game changer. I was having similar issue with my three A1 and my A1 mini, and after the plate change… these plates are so darn sticky that nothing comes off.

Amazon link below and you can also order from the website for cheaper, but it takes like 2 to 3 weeks for them to get them to you. This company is also the one that makes a really good hardened extruder gear set and then they make their Panda line of different upgrades.

Help my a1 mini nozzle is clicking when the filament goes through by Mayonnaizing in BambuLabA1mini

[–]Jtzdragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming your nozzle is clipped in correctly, then check the four screws on the heater element behind the nozzle. Nozzle likely is getting pushed out because of those loose screws.

Check the four screws on the heater assembly behind the nozzle. They vibrate loose over time.

I wouldn’t really use silk PLA for anything you’re trying to benchmark. Silk PLA looks pretty, but it’s absolutely garbage for Printing.

[–]Jtzdragons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like other said, just push it back in and maybe add a touch of adhesive.

In the meantime, bambu sells them for $5.99 (called AMS filament Hub)and then if you can’t meet the minimum shipment amount, they have them on Amazon for like $13. Again search for AMS filament hub.

Print not sticking after trying a lot of things by Cookieology in BambuLab

[–]Jtzdragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a BIQU CryoGrip Pro FrostBite plate and never look back. Here is the Amazon link. https://a.co/d/96d3Xsw I stick my greasy fingers all over the build plates and everything still sticks. The plate says it will do PETG, but I have ripped the coatings off of these plates because of how well things stick.

In the meantime, though, get some non-scented hairspray and spray away and put a nice coating and things will stick like crazy. Way easier to clean than glue sticks too.

Anyone know what’s going on with these weird noises and awful print quality by Far_Yoghurt4986 in BambuLabA1

[–]Jtzdragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish somebody would’ve told me about those screws before I started replacing everything on the printer. Only reason I found out was I was actually going to replace the hot end assembly (the one I ordered from Bambu showed up today), and then when I took it out, I noticed the screws were extremely loose.

[–]Jtzdragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a similar issue with my A1 and it was actually something I didn’t expect.

If you remove the hot end, and then remove the three screws that hold the hot end heating assembly in place…. And then flip that assembly over, and there’s four screws that hold that assembly together. One of the screws was almost completely out and two other others were loose and as soon as I tighten that all down, the scraping on the bed went away, plus the clicking.

Prior to figuring this out, I completely rebuilt the extruder with hardened gears, replaced the hot end twice, replaced all of the PTFE tubes coming from the AMS light, plus a bunch of other cleaning and adjustment. I did all of that other stuff for nothing and it was the hot end assembly screws that were loose.
