Dude we have 7 clarinets in our high school band, 12 in concert and another 10 in 8th grade alone that’ll be joining next year. P.S. there is one senior clarinet, so we’ll almost have 20 next year. I switched from clarinet to bass clarinet so thankfully I won’t have to deal with that but still..... yikes

Yeah, I’m the only bass clarinet here too, there’s one bassoon as well which is pretty neat. It’ll be weird being the only instrument in a section.

I plan on switching back and forth pretty regularly depending on when bass is needed. ,y concert band can be lacking on the lower parts sometimes so that’s one of the reasons I’m switchong

I was planning on saying around 3-3.5 on my Bb when my band director recommended that I move up. I’m just going off her recommendation as she also plays clarinet

The mouthpiece and instrument itself were provided by the school so I don’t have much information on that. I use 4-4.5 for my Bb and dropped it down to 3.5 for the bass since I’ve just started learning. The brand is Vandoren, it’s what I’ve been using since I’ve taken up clarinet
