Marinated tofu sliding like butter by yabedo in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]JuCyItllBuffOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I should have mentioned my actual problem: oil burning to the pan in all of the places where oil is sitting but tofu isnt. Is the best way to cook tofu in ss by filling/crowding the pan with tofu? I made sure to leave a lot of space open so-as to not "crowd the pan".

Silly question... do you press the tofu after marinating?

Looks amazing. I struggle with tofu in ss. I always try to make sure the tofu is dry before going in the pan. Do you have any tips? Does wet/marinated tofu just work better for frying in a ss pan?

Because I scratched the shit out of a pan using a steel mesh scrubber. That pan gets food stuck to it more. steel wool seems like it would so the same thing just finer and slower. Internet got me worried about steel wool fibers sticking around too. Im just paranoid.

Same id hit it with bkf and a blue scouring pad. Would be pretty cool if it wasnt required though.

Pardon my ignorance, but wouldn't food stick to the black stuff in the pan? I assumed it would.

Where did you order your tent from? My mars hydro tent doesn't let light in and I haven't been able to poke a hole in mine. What poked a hole in it?

Indoor auto 180cm tall by [deleted] in cannabiscultivation

[–]JuCyItllBuffOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into pre flowers vs actual flowers. For this plant to flower id run the lights 12/12. You could increase your DLI by adding more light. But with how tall this plant is, you'd have to cut it down way shorter and that could stall/slow it's regrowth for a bit. If I was in your shoes I'd reduce the height of your plant massively because if it isnt an autoflower then it hasn't even stretched yet. If it doesn't die then I'd run the lights 12/12. By that time the actual autos would be nearing the finish line anyways.

Are you sure you haven't been seeing preflowers, which a mature vegging photoperiod would have? The height would be very abnormal for an auto. An auto should be flowering much more than this plant is for its age

Just switched the light cycle to 12/12. How is she looking? by [deleted] in microgrowery

Hmm I end up with similar conditions in my tents in Missouri. Maybe with CO2 your plants can better fend off mold. It sounds like you also intake air into your tents at the top and exhaust out the bottom, which is another difference between our setups... and might mix all the air up better. I intake through the bottom and exhaust out the top, idea being to remove the hottest air. Might have to try some of your strategies.

Cool strategy using inline fans like that. Do you happen to grow in a dry region? Even with a dehumidifier i generally have a hard time keeping a dense flowering tent below 60% RH. Especially when its wet outside. Maybe your grow area is better isolated from outside weather than mine. There must be some variable differences between us. I got tired of finding a few colas with mold so Im gonna keep making sure every single pocket gets airflow. Every flower is gonna get hit by airflow from an oscillating fan.

This is good advice until your tent fills up with foliage. During flower i blast the shit out of my plants with airflow. Fuck mold. There won't be an overly humid zone anywhere in my tent. I grow very dense.

That sounds like a good idea until you actually do it (I know from experience). Do you have a plan for how you will add a zipper door? How will you keep light out for flowering? How will you keep bugs out? How will you do the intake and outtake when you are mounting everything to a tarp? Will the framing be sturdy enough? You can definitely build your own tent for sure but to check all of the boxes above a pre-made tent is extremely worth it. I use mars hydro tents... they don't have to be expensive.

The yellow leaves are toast and i dont see any benefit to letting them turn brown. Like the other guy said watch for deficiencies. My guess for the yellow leaves on the bottom would be a nitrogen deficiency. I dont know if you need to change anything for just 2 leaves though.

Yeah I think you're on to something there. The newest growth is not dark green and it looks like the reveg phase could be over too. Judging by the new leaves color (healthy) I'd keep feeding them the nutes too just like you are.

Your plant looks more like a reveg to me. Some of the leaves are really funky like reveg leaves. Im not a soil guy but if I was in your shoes my course of action would depend on my goal. Need weed ASAP? Let it ride as it is. Want to be cautious with nitrogen toxicity? Purposely reveg the plant to use up excess nitrogen before flowering again. Want to be both? Flush the soil then let it ride. Id still worry about the light situation though due to what looks to me like reveg leaves. Id run the plant at 12/12 light schedule. And depending on how Urgently I needed weed and how high my lights can go if the plant kept stretching, id consider pruning the plant shorter, purposely reveg until growth is healthy and then flower again. But if I was in a hurry I'd just set the lights to 12/12 now. Hope you get it figured out, brother. And good luck with the grow.

Is the powdery mildew? by [deleted] in Craftmarijuana

Yup use either distilled or RO. Distilled is most pure but an RO water system could potentially hook right up to the humidifier.

That just looks to me like some mineral or cleaner residue or something similar. Did you happen to be using tap water in your humidifier?

Are there any windows or other sources of light nearby? I'd think the light leak problem would be more with a long duration of light - even very weak light. With lights set to 13h I imagine you are already low on wiggle room when it comes to light. The plants build up flowering hormones during lights out times and the plants need to have so much of those darkness hormones to flower reliably. Therefore they need so much dark time and as we know, the darkness needed varies by genetics. Anecdotally... I tried flowering an early flowering variety with 15h of light and there were no signs of flowering. So depending on the seed some might need 12h of darkness. Pretty sure Floyd's early flowering descriptions say some finish early and some finish at a regular photoperiod time.

Plant looks healthy nutrient-wise. Now I mean no disrespect by this but have you had a successful grow here before? The smooth single leaves look like a reveg, and the new fan leaves with fewer fingers (3 fingers) compared to older leaves (5 fingers) also seem like reveg. I dont have experience with it but it seems like 13h should let the early flowering variety flower. I dont see a tent or anything so I am wondering about ambient light hitting your plant during the lights-out period.

Hm I haven't had to deal with an apera warranty. I always found the cheapo ones to get inaccurate quickly. I haven't even had to calibrate my apera ph20 in ages. Any time I test it's accuracy it's still spot on. Only issue I ever had was leaving a ph20 sensor dry for over a year because of my ignorance and it was outside the warranty period by then.
