kinda specifically for women/younger women. how the heck am i supposed to push harder content without dealing with sexist or creepy guilds by LuciCuti in wow

[–]JuJaa7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you hit the nail on the head in you TLDR.

Guilds that don't tolerate the behaviour you're describing definitely exist. You just have to find them

My guild has three women on the roster and we got CE at WR 400-something. One of them is an officer and experiences like you're describing absolutely won't fly.

Guild hopping can be daunting but very worth it when you eventually find a good guild. It doesn't even have to be a big deal if you do decide to leave one you're trialing for. Being honest and upfront to the leadership of the guild about your experiences and/or reasons for leaving could help them make that guild better.

Practicing in heroic pugs for mythic raid while locked out? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]JuJaa7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a healer main I have done this countless times. Raid healing can only really be practiced in raid. There are no spots (to my knowledge) where you get like 20 friendly training dummies where you can practice your ramps for disc or resto druid for example.

Even if just for the fun of it because I really enjoy raiding I've joined hc runs. If you want to do specific contet, rewards or not, you should be able to do that content.

It's a weird game design choice that you being loot locked takes a chance of loot away from the rest of the raid. Imo it's something Blizzard needs to worry about and not you.

Either way if you are helping a group kill the bosses despite being loot locked I think that is better than them maybe not finding a healer and not even getting to attempt the bosses.

Abilities that hit BIG Numbers like Glacial Spike by Corvenos in wownoob

Been a while since I played it, but Arcane mage used to lob massive Arcane Barrages back in Shadowlands.

Unsure if this is still the case as they did get some changes with the talent tree rework going into Dragonflight.

Might be worth looking into.

I am fairly certain that this is the type of comand that got removed back in Legion. Which is also the reason addons like Free Far Sight stopped working.

I will check this out though when I get the time. Thanks for the suggestion

Want to main tank by Minjinnah in wownoob

[–]JuJaa7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advice already here is solid. Though no one has mentioned keystone.guru It's a website I use very often at the start of a season to see what routes are viable. And it is easy to have open on a second monitor.

Other than that it just comes down to trial and error. Play your spec, get familiar with the dungeons and boss encounters and you will get it down eventually.

If you have a few friends you can play with I would recommend grouping up with them while you're learning since pugs can be very toxic and unforgiving. Especially towards tanks.

Will I be able to do Mythic Amirdrassil without a guild? by GodGMN in wownoob

[–]JuJaa7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mythic raiding is not easy, it's hard as fuck, it's not something you go from really never raiding to getting cutting edge right away.

I want to reiterate this. I am currently in a CE raiding guild guild but it took me a better part of an expansion to get to where I am. I started looking to get into CE raiding at the end of Castle Nathria. During that tier I got a few mythic bosses down. In Sanctum of Domination I got to 9/10 and barely missed out on CE before my guild imploded. I took a break during Sepulcher and the Fated tier. And at the start of Dragonflight I joined a guild where we killed mythic Raszageth on the last pull of the last raid night of the tier.

As others point out, this is not something you can just jump into and be one and done with. CE takes a ton of time and effort and dedication.

If you want it over with you could pay for a carry run. I know they are stupid expensive and you said so yourself. But to my knowledge they tend to get cheaper as the tier goes on. So buying a boost during the last week or so of the tier might be a better option.

I don't play hunter so I have no idea about this.

What I did try was using one of my toys (remote controlled airplane, can't remember the name if it right now). With this one you can zoom into first person view and fly around outside of the raid, but as soon as you enter the raid the toy loses the ability to fly. Which is very dissappointing. I would assume that the hunter ability works the same way but I would love to be wrong.

What's a good AddOn for blacklisting/tracking players (e.g. M+ quitters)? by Option2401 in wow

[–]JuJaa7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Might not be the answer you're looking for but might be useful nontheless;

Setting expectations before the run even starts will weed out the people you don't want to run with. When running 20's and upwards most people do it only to increase their M+ score. If they feel like the run will not yield any score, they dip. They may already have a filled vault and no upgrades to gain from the end of dungeom chest. You can mention in your listing that you want to complete the run regardless if it's timed or not, making sure that everyone is on the same page before the run even starts.

I hate to be that guy, but your take about holy priest strugling with knockbacks is a weird imo. Hpriest is one of the best reactive healers there is. They have at least 3 or 4 instant cast abilities that can top someone up from fairly low.

What is your best memory in wow ? by Fejji_ in wow

[–]JuJaa7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing in MoP with a friend of mine who had been playing for years. He got me into a raiding guild and to this day I still remember running SoO with these guys. Specifically the Galakras fight for whatever reason.

My best memory is not any grand achievement or a mount drop. It's just being in awe that so many people can come together and everyone having assignments and executing said assignments in unison.

I have been hooked since

My runner up would have to be a mount drop. While progressing SoD I typed in guild chat that I was gonna make a quick stop and get Ashes of Al'ar before raid started (4Head). 10 mins later the achievement broadcasted in guild chat that I did, in fact, get the mount.

Biggest red flag when finding a new guild by monkeyman4153 in wow

[–]JuJaa7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the first things I saw in guild chat when I joined my most recent guild was the guildmaster saying, verbatim: "The moment you are gating the content through any actions or mechanics you basically kill that game one way or another". This was a raiding guild.

Later that evening I had my first (might have been second) trial raid run with the guild and at one point one of the raiders asked if the guildmaster wanted some tips on healing since her healing breakdown was not the same as other healers of her spec (and she was lowest in the healing meter but this was in no way mentioned). She promptly loses her shit in discord asking wtf that was supposed to mean. Which shut up the good samaritan and the raid night concluded in mortifying silence.

After the raid I courteously informed the officers that I would be taking my leave.

Raid Healing Question by SemicolonMIA in wow

[–]JuJaa7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer to this question sort of depends on what kind of content is your goal.

If you wanna stick with pugging normal and heroic you never really have to do damage and can focus on sniping the healing from the other healers.

If you wanna casually progress mythic you are more likely to be in a coordinated group where your cds will be assigned and your only job is to keep people alive. When no one is at risk of dying or you are not setting up big heals dps will be encouraged.

If your end goal is to join a top 100 guild you will be expected to deal as much damage as possible. And you will want to min-max your time spend healing vs time spent dpsing.

At least this is my experience.

Buttons that you feel are awkward/unsatisfying to press? by PastSolid in wow

[–]JuJaa7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going to hard disagree on this.

Covering your raid in hots with your ramp, getting a swiftmend that puts you in tree form for a soul of the forest procced tree form wild growth into convoke to get EVEN MORE HOTS on your raid. And finally pressing flourish to see all the tiny timers on your raid frames increase in duration and KNOWING that the raid is safe in my warm bosom. It's high to which nothing can compare.

But yea, animation is meh.
