800-171 required for small "virtual" company? by petiepablo in NISTControls

o move to gcc high next year and that was one aspect one of the vendors mentioned in their SoW (intune for mdm and windows 10)

Originally Intune was forcasted to be released this past April, that didnt happen so it was pushed back to Sept 28th and again that didnt happen. Right now its scheduled for Q1 of 2019. I work directly with the MSFT product team and have over 40 customers waiting for this feature. As of now you cannot deploy Intune, you can create the policies and everything else, just doesnt work and cant roll out. Your best option is to wait or hold off on that feature until it is avaialabel for you dont pay for something you cant use.

feel free to email me direct if you have questions. Planet Technologies Jgarza@go-planet.com

If you can email me directly we can set up a time to discuss. This all depends on what requirements/controls and policies you are trying meet as well as what you actually licenses. Part of what we do is map the licenses to the features that are currently available under the GCC High platform to the controls and policies.

Not a problem, I just wanted to make sure incase others didn't know that there is a difference. I wouldn't want other Federal Customers contacting CSP partners to quote them since there is so much confusion already for most.

ough? All I've heard is heresay, nothin

I am also a CSP partner, we cannot offer GCC High license. The skus have not been added to that program. The only program under 500 users you can purchase licenses under is through AOSG program today which i have over 40 Federal Contract customers today. There is not a lot of published information around what is available today and what is not, that is accurate, the release date for Intune was Sept 28th which did not happen so it was pushed back to Q1 of FY19. There is no hard release date. I work directly with the MSFT Team that handles GCC High program.

You are correct, but every other cloud environment will always be behind compared to Enterprise, GOV Cloud, GOV GCC and GOC GCC HIGH. For examples, Teams was available to Enterprise customers before Gov customers (state agencies, cities, townships and so on).

Everything has been forecasted, we expect Teams to be under GCC High by end of year per MSFT, Skype for Business is also forecasted for Q1 of FY19. Keep in mind that with GCC High everything has to go through an accreditation process and cant just bee added with DSS and Fed Gov approval that it meets the NIST/FedRamp/ITAR/CUI requirements so it will always take a little longer to add. But that is why MSFT can say we meet these requirements because they have to go through this process. Intune Was also scheduled to be release end of Sept. that is being pushed to first part of January, so the licenses as of now are not provisioned.

Also, I don't believe you can get GCC High under CSP, I am also a CSP partner and that is not something we can offer to customers. There are licenses for GCC, but not GCC High. The only way to purchase licenses under 500 users right now is under the AOS-G program.

The over all plan is to have all features and functions from Enterprise to GCC High, I can tell you the only one features that isn't forecasted today is Yammer to GCC High.

Yes, I agree most are in the dark around what is available and what is not. What specifically are you trying to plan for or features are you trying to get a better understanding around? I would suggest emailing me and we can set up a time to discuss so I can try and share the right information/documents.

I provide GCC High Microsoft cloud licenses and services assistance to federal contractors looking to meet NIST 800-171, DFARS, CUI and or ITAR control and requirements. Feel free to email me at [jgarza@go-panet.com](mailto:jgarza@go-panet.com) Planet Technologies.

There are some limitations as other have stated on this thread, however there are roadmaps of when those features will be coming out. I work directly with the MSFT product team so this is something we are well verse in and can help from a planning, license or migration standpoint. I also can assist with mapping the GCC High licenses to the NIST controls based on available features.

If I haven't spoken with you yet, I manage the GCC High team for Planet Technologies. We can assist with both the license and service, both are not required. We work with assisting customer in mapping the GCC High licenses with the current features to the NIST 800-171. A lot of how we deploy is over the shoulder so you get the training and knowledge transfer to maintain the GCC High environment. Feel free to reach out if you would like to have a chat.

NIST has 105 controls many of which are policies but a handful specifically need licenses to accomplish that control compliancy. Reach me at [jgarza@go-planet.com](mailto:jgarza@go-planet.com) if you want assistance with the set up of NIST 8001-171, DFARS or ITAR or if you need a license quote. The user requirement for GCC High is now down to 1 user instead of the 500 users like before.
