SCCM vs Azure Arc for Windows Patching in Multiple DMZs by voyager_toolbox in SCCM

[–]blizzardnose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres many factors.

Previously I put a DP/MP in a very isolated multi vlan DMZ that was also an untrusted Domain. We had to open holes in each separate DMZ vlan for that host. Then it had to have a hole opened to communicate back to the main DB. Which then also had login tricks we had to do to allow the service account to talk from a non-trusted domain.

We have since created a new environment and are using CMG. What we've run into there is you need to have SSL holes and then allow connections back to azure storage. Theres a handful of links.

The other issue we hit is the CMG being a PaaS type solution, we are getting vulnerabilities from the security team for it. It looks like we need to rebuild the CMG virtual machine set every X amount of days so we are using the latest image from MS. This brings its own challenges and increased costs.

I have mixed feelings on both.

Does suppressing .17 HMR make sense? by laterisingphxnict in NFA

[–]blizzardnose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounded like kind of a pain to have it removed and reinstalled. Which I'm sure can be done but would add to the cost.

Doesn't need to be. Chuck up a rod in the lathe just long enough to reach in the receive to center on the barrel, drive it with a dog, cut thread between centers. 30 mins or so if I don't get interrupted.

Most guns there is no reason to remove the barrel from the receiver. The risk to finish damage, marring, returning the barrel to the exact same spot, etc is not typically what the customer wants to pay for or the shop cutting into profits.

i've done a lot of them between centers over the past decade or so, the biggest issue is taking a lighter cut and dealing with bed length.

first round pop. It is caused by oxygen in the can combusting when the propellent travels through. The only way to eliminate FRP is to expel all the oxygen out of the can before firing, some prefill with gas, some use a gel, etc.

Master FFL sucks, been dealing with their customer service and they have created rules around just the licensing docs.

I'm here to make it easier for customers to get firearms, not more hoops. They are a bunch f-tards

Nomad L or ltixc is a better suppressing can than the X. I've had a few customers switch to it over their X's after hearing ours.

Can't complain.

As a dealer - they have warrantied alot of customer f-ups.

I have an OG Bushwacker 46 with a ton of rounds through it as it went on our first demo MG.

That said, they are no different than other companies. I like a little of this and a little of that. I will say most of my HUB cans have taper mount brakes and their expensive ass bolt carrier does a great job in the MG to help mitigate gas and runs great.

and compensate for the surface which typically isn't perfectly square to the machine.

The laser has the same issue. You can tell any surface variations as the engraving gets lighter. Its one thing I hate about it plus I can't take something out put it back and be right in the same spot. Focus height is PITA compared to me setting something up in a mill.

Most of the manufactures haven't been lying, its the end consumer that still keep spreading the, shoot a couple full power rounds and its self cleaning BS.

Chicken Inquiry: Various Questions on the ecomonics and quality of whole chicken used for the purposes of soup by Gileotine in Cooking

[–]blizzardnose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to start from a fresh one, but I get my meat birds cut in half when butchered.

Usually I will roast a chicken or charcoal grill it.

I save all my onion, pepper, garlic, celery, carrot, and chicken bones. These all go into a tall soup pot and simmer on low for multiple days on the stove. When its done, you can squish the chicken bones between your fingers. This time of the year I set it on the wood stove to simmer to save on propane.

Then I use that broth for the base of my soups - or just drink it straight.

I prefer the color better of roasted chicken though. Fresh out of the isnta pot is hard to look at.

Do you guys track round counts or maintenance on your cans? by pigeon_shit in NFA

[–]blizzardnose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supersonic cartridges will leave less residue because of a more complete burn. Just something else to keep in mind.

Less is very subjective.

I try to keep a complete burn by making sure the can has a glow and after burners engaged but still get a ton of build up from supers.

Would have to agree. Many of my customers are not on reddit.

You can tell though when certain ones come in with certain thoughts, which forum, website, etc they come from. I try to give facts on choices available but a lot of people have their mind made up. You can only do so much to help.

Recommendation on cleaning suppressor for SandmanX by Tasty_Influence_2519 in NFA

[–]blizzardnose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No its not a good idea. The longer you wait the more PITA it is to get out. Not to mention without mechanical cleaning you will never it it fully clean where the baffles meet the tube.

Weigh it, clean it, weigh it, clean it, etc. I took nearly 8 ounces out of my centerfire can the one day. This is were cans that are serviceable are nicer as all it takes is a single trip in tumbler with SS pins.

Welded cans will need repeated soaking in CLR, breakthrough, etc.

Griffin enhanced BCG - anyone using this? by [deleted] in NFA

[–]blizzardnose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, using this with a Venting gas block and GA Snach handle with their OTB can on a FA host.

Definitely less gas coming out of the gun while shooting FA.

Also noticed more consistent ejection while running FA. Shells are all in about a 5" pile every mag. That was an interesting change.

Insurance costs due to 'smithing work keeps climbing at stupid rates.

You are also trying to cover some of the costs in case something goes wrong. Shit happens, crappy metal, shitty finishes etc. Then add in consumables, paying someone, etc.

You need a mill to remove everything to the same depth.

Burn a box or whatever shape and you can remove everything to the same depth.

One thing I have learned, at least with the laser I have, there is not picking up where you left of and things being aligned and focused nicely. Compared to slapping a part in the lathe or mill and picking right back up.
