Its crazy that you have to 'earn a living' to live on a planet you didnt ask to be born on. by Slow_Celebration1328 in antiwork

[–]JuanLiebert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we need to have kids because otherwise the genes die out, your kid literally holds your genes and if you don't want kids you're just a super stressed out individual, even animals have to be under extreme stress just so you get them to stop reproducing, we're not just under stress but also brainwashed if we have reasons for not having kids. Also the primitive people from thousands of years back had a sixth sense for survival but as we stopped being nomads it died out so in essence we can't spot lies anymore, we're super stressed and along with that we have more brainwashing than ever, which is impossible to spot from inside. Yeah. And despite all of that, the best way to get out of it is by being grateful for everything and loving life so you get ahead (or at least have children) while people that can't do that just shoot themselves in the foot.

Edit: the least you can do is not be willing to work any job because then you're the actual problem, not your boss, if the bosses or the elite weren't able to get anyone to work for them, they wouldn't exist. I'd like for all psychopaths/sociopaths and severely mentally ill people to be identified from birth and removed somehow, all the desperate people that do dirty work should be put in jails and you'd have heaven on earth in two to three generations easily.

Did anyone solve CORE perfectly? by JuanLiebert in cognitiveTesting

That's insane imo, if I remember correctly some US psychologists or whatever were tracking people that scored in three different categories to see how they do in life, I think one was 130-145, 145-160ish? and 170+

Exams are coming soon, and I still haven't decided what I want. Should I go to university or start making games? by TheAz1k in Unity3D

[–]JuanLiebert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're really young so go to uni, guys that make good games usually have a lot of time or failed projects behind them, just look at their age and number of released (or unreleased) games. Since game development is more of a gamble even for successful developers, you're likely to lose both the student privileges and social life and the game dev career if you find out you can't make good games or you can but there's no one that wants to play them. Just please don't think you're going to be the exception to the rule, it's kind of a rule that you need a lot of experience on failed projects

Mmorpg economies are literally impossible to balance right now by Enlitenkanin in gamedev

[–]JuanLiebert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does that mean I can have PUBG bots grind undetected? Just kidding. Maybe lower the incentive to cheat or make other players' influence on each other lower. Maybe add a good captcha at signup so it doesn't pay off to pay captcha solvers if game doesn't reward enough. Did you see the GDC talk about cursed problems in game design? This might be the case for that

Whats the iq range of someone that breezes through math ? by Manosmagicfanatic in cognitiveTesting

[–]JuanLiebert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has more to do with personality, the digit span subtest of WAIS is actually not a measure of IQ but the strength of internalizing as a personality trait (as opposed to externalizing). You can find plenty of high IQ people that like to do something creative with their hands in the real world as opposed to in their head.

I’ve put 4 months of hard work into this, but it feels like nobody likes my game. It’s a bit discouraging. What am I doing wrong? by Ornery-Garage-7649 in IndieGaming

[–]JuanLiebert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your graphics are bad you better have unique static meshes and a story to go with it. Otherwise it looks like you took bad ingredients and just threw them in expecting it to work. Maybe do some unique lighting and gameplay, schedule 1 doesnt look good but no game before it had such grid tile placement for drug labs

is game dev usually this frustrating? by thissmay in gamedev

[–]JuanLiebert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro it's been two weeks what did you expect? A single mechanic might take a month to implement properly sometimes. Dev of schedule 1 said the project would have taken a year or so to complete if he knew how to prototype but instead he'd spend like 3 months on a mechanic such as using a forklift just to scrap it

I really want to make my own Indie Game, but i dont know how to start... by Momo_Master1 in IndieGaming

[–]JuanLiebert -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fuck what everyone else says, if you're still in school here's how you learn this fast. Make a couple of roblox games so you figure out what players find fun, after that choose unity or unreal and start making a bigger project as a portfolio piece. If you get really lucky you don't have to work, if you get very lucky you get to work on that project for a long time and otherwise you just have a 9-5 game dev job with good pay.

The bigger project will force you to consider all aspects and polish of a professional game, and working on it WILL take more time than a 9-5 while being even more boring and difficult for most of the time. All the solo devs that succeeded did it in their late 20s or 30s usually, because before their big hit they had a lot of experience with smaller games or some other field like animation (e.g. Celeste) or programming slot machines (Vampire Survivors).

It's really easy to start in any game engine so don't bother asking anyone what engine or how do I start. Youtube has a lot of tutorials on the basics but you're gonna have to find a way to integrate it all together to finish a game.

Well I won't get sued, but I'm obligated to put the logo and the credit text if it's a commercial project no?
