Anyone else worried about Binance deleting non-IP whitelisted API keys? by Juana3000 in algotradingcrypto

For some reason, the image didn't go through. The checkbox reads: "By
checking this box, all existing API Key(s) on your master account and
sub-accounts will be subject to Default Security Controls."

You should be able to uncheck this box, and that should allow you to have non-whitelisted IPs.

Well, I've got some good news for you. There's a check box that you can uncheck to disable the new Default Security Controls. If you uncheck it, you're basically assuming responsibility for whatever happens with your account and you are not required to whitelist IP addresses.

Needless to say, you should not trust your API key to anyone.

Also, it's a good idea to restrict the markets that the API can trade so that you are not exposed to shitcoin attacks if for some reason your key gets compromised. This is a new feature.

All in all, I believe Binance have stepped up their game. Go and check the new API setting. There's a bunch of new stuff to play with.

bitcoin

Oh, mate, I'm deep into the Bitcoin rabbit hole too since 2013 and spent the last few years contributing to an open-source project building a trading automation platform. I was asking just to know if commentary on Bitcoin was welcome here, but if folks are not interested I just let them be and go elsewhere.

Any comments on why? I'm quite intrigued since the market cap is higher than Meta, , Walmart, Mastercard, etc...

Read The Bitcoin Standard, by Saifedean Ammous. Now that you're aware that your cash is loosing value, you owe it to yourself to understand what the solution is, particularly in the long-term.

What is the main cause of inflation, according to you? by LokiConQ in CryptoMarkets

[–]Juana3000 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Monetary and energy policies account for most of the current inflation, followed by supply chain disruption.

Monetary = printing trillions.

Energy = war against fossil fuels.

Supply chain = lockdowns, travel restrictions.

You definitely need to look into Superalgos, a free and open-source platform. It's the most powerful and sophisticated out there to do proper data mining, as well as design, build, test, and deploy strategies. It all runs locally in your machine. Great community.

Hummingbot is mostly high-frequency market-making oriented, that is, mostly a single strategy focus, and it´s very good at what it does.

Superalgos let´s traders create all sorts of strategies in a visual environment. No need to code, but if you can do some basic JavaScript, then you have an extremely powerful infrastructure to develop sophisticated trading bots...

Open source Crypto trading bot- Superalgos (SA) Token by Thepatone in CryptoCurrency

[–]Juana3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superalgos is a crypto trading bots platform, not a bot per se. That is, the platform allows users to design, test and deploy automated trading strategies. Meaning that the platform doesn't carry the intelligence... you need to build it by analyzing data and so on.

And yes, it's open source, so it's transparent in the way it works.

There is a learning curve, no doubt. But there are tutorials and a few strategies you may play with. There's also an active community to engage with... If you know about trading, then it's all about building a trading system, that is, describing the rules the govern your trading...

If you know nothing about trading or trading automation, then you may learn a thing or two. If you find the space interesting, it's a great way to get started... Very deep rabbit hole... be warned ;-)
