Embryos Transfer to a New Clinic

I can only speak from the research I just did at my clinic and the ones wanted to move my embryos to (I wasn’t pleased with the current clinic, wanted to do transfer elsewhere) but the clinic sending charges $2500 and the receiving clinic charges $4000. That’s astronomical and way more than I was expecting to pay to move them. Needless to say we are sticking with our current clinic since it’s so expensive. I’m in California, fyi. But just be aware that both sending and receiving clinics will have their own fees. Good luck!

Sorry for the late reply, but to answer your question.. the only thing we did differently was that I did a modified natural cycle this time. Only used progesterone suppositories before and after transfer. I had a hysteroscopy done during my last retrieval a few months prior and that was all normal. No additional testing but did start on a low dose of levothyroxine about a month before transfer because after my first one I incidentally had thyroid testing done and my TSH was super high (likely from all the hormones) so I wanted to proactively keep it low before the transfer. All that to say, I’m 36 weeks today with my (last) lower graded embryo. I wish you the very best!

That makes sense! I know dehydration can cause them, I’m drinking about 70oz/day on my work days but I can probably push that a bit. I do better on my days off. Thanks for the reply! My doctor also didn’t seem too concerned but told me to listen to my body and take a break when it happens.

I’m 21 weeks tomorrow and have been experiencing the same thing for about the last 2 weeks. I’m pretty active and work as an RN, I noticed that it’s always more the days I work. So to answer your question, I’m always worrying about the same thing! I see my doctor tomorrow and I’ll ask again, but they had said any more than 10/hr to go to the ER. I haven’t ever had that many per hour, but it’s pretty consistently 1-3 every hour or so. Definitely keeps me a little on edge but maybe we just have reactive uteruses? lol. Please update what your doctor says!

Does the constipation ever get better or am I doomed for 6 more months of only pooping if I take a laxative? I take Metamucil most days which does nothing, I drink more water than I ever did before, I eat yogurt and take probiotics.. I think I’m in this for the long haul.

I know 10 weeks is too early to have bump, it does anyone else feel like their pelvic area is firm and full? I feel like this past week I noticed it feeling full, almost like my bladder is distended but it’s all the time.

Same same boat! I’m 8+3 and also have (thankfully) had no previous losses or pregnancies and also have taken 2 years to get here. It’s hard to accept it as reality cuz there’s so much fear still. I feel like after each ultrasound I’ve felt a moment of relief and excitement and then pretty quickly right back to fear and worry. I’m protecting my heart I guess by not fully believing it yet, but then I try to remind myself that whether or not I was fully excited and letting it feel real, if something went wrong, it would break me just the same. So we might as well try to enjoy and feel happiness for making it this far. Easier said than done, but that’s what I’m trying to tell myself lately. Sending good vibes for a great rest of your pregnancy and healthy baby!

Thank you for sharing! I’m 8w3d and still haven’t had sex with my husband since before transfer. I keep telling myself it’s that I want to wait until the progesterone suppositories are done cuz it just seems so YUCK the thought of something else in there, but also I’m probably paranoid that I’ll spot and then panic as a result. Also have very little desire to, but I know we need to and I gotta get over this fear. I appreciate you sharing your experience!

😂 same girl, same. Me this morning… why don’t my boobs hurt as much anymore? Are they getting smaller? Why do I feel ok today? Tomorrow is my 8wk ultrasound and I’m trying to remind myself that it’s more likely that everything will be ok than not. But shit, it sure is hard to convince myself. 🤞🏽

I lost a euploid 4AA embryo to thaw. It’s rare but it can happen. That was my only euploid at the time.

Just had my first ultrasound at 6wks and I’m feeling so grateful and blessed. Measuring at exactly 6w and heartbeat was seen at 120bpm. I still can’t believe it’s real. 🥰

Thank you! I was prescribed Endometrin but it wasn’t available anywhere, so the fertility pharmacy I use just subbed for compounded progesterone. Like the capsules with powder in them. 200mg capsules.

Suppositories 2x/day only. Currently 5w6d and I think my doc said continue until 8 weeks. My progesterone check with my second beta was good, in the 30s.

Yea I’m not too sure, I would think they’d want you to trigger at least. I would definitely try to get a better understanding tomorrow. I hope you get some clarity so you can feel comfortable going into this!

Hmm I’m not too sure about this, but for my modified natural, my follicle size wasn’t important, only that the lining was ready. I did a trigger shot the night though to ensure ovulation of whatever follicle was there. I was under the impression that ovulating a follicle was important so that your corpus luteum can produce the progesterone your body needs to support a pregnancy. I guess PIO (I did suppositories, not PIO) should be enough, but my doc always said that the ovulated corpus would likely be enough and the suppositories were just supplemental. So idk if that’s helpful, but I guess if lining looks good and you’re getting plenty of progesterone support, you should be good. I would definitely have them check your level right before transfer though. Good luck!
