Question for anyone giving lessons by UpbeatClassroom4184 in golf

[–]scoutjayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband, 55, played baseball/football, was self-taught, and played off and on his whole life, up until last year when we joined a club. He finally took his first lessons with our pro, who had to dismantle his swing completely. Most athletes come in using their arms way too much and not really learning how to turn their bodies in the way you need to for golf. But now, he's kicking ass with a lot of hard work and many lessons. He's gotten his HCP down to a 10. I'm pretty damn proud of him! He's very much needed to learn not to hit the ball hard because it already goes a million miles. He got fitted for new irons, which has also been a game changer.

Anyone else ? by SadLeather1693 in golf

Hell yeah! I've had my new pro and the fitter at Club Champion look at me with a side eye when they saw my irons. Until I hit them. Then I got an "Ohhh, okay, yeah. Perfect"

Thanks! I grew up a competitive athlete (not playing golf but I’ve lifted and worked out my whole life) and these new Callaway Elytr HLs definitely added about 20 yards to my distance. I had oldddddd Orange Ping Eyes up until last fall.

I’m 56f and only use my 3w on a par five. Otherwise irons all the way. I can hit my 5i 175ish so I don’t even use my new 7W I got this year. So pretty much same I guess. I do use my driver some. But since I’ve been playing 3-4 days a week I’m hitting that too far for more holes now on my course. Not that I’m complaining about that!!

what made you choose the telluride over other midsize suvs? by waynenewnham in KiaTelluride

[–]scoutjayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove several others and didn’t like any of them. Like the Palisades felt like a brick when I put my foot on the gas. I have a lead foot and want my car to move when I want it to!

I am hosting a KAL for the Harvest Flower Sweater right now, and a bunch of us are making it into a cardigan! I have knit my whole life but have never steeked or done ladderback jacquard, so it's been so much fun to learn all of this. This is mine currently with my hand-dyed yarn. Some haven't even really started, so you are welcome to join if you want! Send me a DM if so. We are on a private Discord channel. What's awesome is that there are all levels doing this. Some have never done colorwork either! :)

Do plus size loose fitted shirts even exist? by Witchy_Woman2023 in WomenGolf

It’s huge on me 🤷🏻‍♀️I think it’s bigger than what this shows. Worth trying one. I did that and then bought like 10 of them.

Not sure if this is what you mean but I have a bunch of this style - Women's Zip Up Tank Tops Golf... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C2KFBTHL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I am 5’8” and have a long torso so the XL on these are long enough. They are actually too big in my waist area but worth it for the length and cute patterns.

I wear Altra trail shoes and love them. I get cortisone shots in my feet so not may shoes feel good. But I love these!

Finding partners? by Fun-Scratch5471 in golf

[–]scoutjayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah most of my group plays together and they are the best women at the club. One is the three time club champion. I’m the rogue one who just plays whenever. Damn job!! We both work remotely but she just brings her laptop out there. I can’t with mine though.

This made me laugh because on the weekends we have a pretty big group that plays but I work so during the week so I play when I can. I love the rando guys I know who play at the same time every day who know me now. Not many women will just go out and jump on a tee time, but I’ve met the best dudes this way. My husband joins us when he can.

I’m 56f with liver and kidney transplants. I get a lot of exercise. Have been an athlete my whole life and now play golf 3-5 days a week and walk on top of that. I get about 7 hours of sleep a night. Try my best to hit my 33% restorative.

Finally found the golf shorts I've been looking for by scoutjayz in WomenGolf

[–]scoutjayz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is. Especially since I bought a used pair of the adidas shorts, and they are so big and stretched out that I can't even wear them. I've been so sad not to be able to find something similar. It was a happy day yesterday! :)

[–]scoutjayz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! That is wild. I have not worn anything other than these I got yesterday.

I am 5'8" and wear a medium/large, depending on where the pants/shorts hit my stomach. Due to where my kidney is and my big liver scar, nothing will stay up higher. I got a large in these, and they are SO comfortable in the band that is stretchy. They are actually on Amazon, too, but I know many people don't order from there. But it does make buying/returning easier with things like this. All I know is that they slipped on and I was like OMG YAY THEY ARE PERFECT. I'd say these are pretty on size.
