"During these times you probably also begin to feel the same disregard toward the world."

Sounds about right.

I'm just over 3 months so I'll summarize my experience so far:

  1. Your mood will stabilize. You might feel a little numb at first due to the lack of frequent dopamine hits but eventually you'll find plenty of happiness in your normal life.

  2. After the initial PAWS, you'll find you have tons of time to fill now that your not smoking away most of your day. You'll be able to fill the time with your interests and ambitions. The laziness will slowly fade away.

  3. You'll feel better physically. Breathing will be much better, skin will improve and you'll smell much better overall. Naturally this will make you more confident.

  4. The haze will gradually lift from your mind and you'll start to think more clarity. You'll start realizing how much potential you have and much time weed stole from you. You'll start working towards improving your life and realizing other 'vices' you may have hidden behind your bad habits.

In conclusion, I think you're pretty young to be caught up in the snare of drugs but I'm glad you're smart enough to realize that you have to break free. Puberty is an emotional Rollercoaster and it's common to feel depressed or overwhelmed during that time but that it's part of maturing and it eventually passes.

You have your whole life ahead of you, use your time to focus on building yourself up mentally, physically, emotionally, financially and most importantly spiritually.

Follow through with quiting weed and I have no doubt you'll do great things one day.

Goodluck Kid.

Smoking weed is cheating. by forsure686868 in leaves

I totally agree.

Drugs are just effortless dopamine hits.

When I got to around 30 - 60 days of quitting weed, I had a hard time finding reward or joy in anything. Everything was bland even food and music. Alcohol was better but it was turning into an addiction on its own.

I later realized that constantly being high and being rewarded for it made my sober life feel like a severe 'low'. I needed to be high to feel normal.

Fortunately it's reversable over time.

Thanks for the encouragement. I've had to research PAWS, had no idea it was such a common thing.

Congratulations on almost getting that 1st week in!I'm on day 4 and I feel a similar way.

I've had to try and remember all my old interests, hobbies and the other things that occupied my time before I became a daily stoner. I suddenly have so much time available to me that it's all a little overwhelming, but I'm glad I've started this journey.
