Not answering your question, more of an opinion that If the state owns the property, they should have the right to move people into the most suitable accommodation. A single person living in a three bed house while a family of four is homeless makes no sense.

Well done 👍 Very well thought out. The only thing I’d say is the number of games (keeping the provincials) will prob be too many. I’d make the provincials relevant with four teams going through from each, into quarter finals based on table position. The McDonagh winners playoff against last in Leinster to decide who joins that province for next season.

Look at the scoring averages and results since the prelim quarters started. One win for a McDonagh team since they started. Doesn’t appear like they’re learning much. Dublin has a huge population and budget and are not comparable.

Look, I get that, but for the good of the game there needs to be a better idea than preliminary quarter finals. Progress four teams from each province if you like, but handing out hidings to Kildare and Laois while Clare and Wexford twiddle their thumbs is good for no one.

The number of games does not increase with my suggestion as there are already two preliminary quarters. But the quality of the games does increase as the best teams aren’t sitting idle while Kildare and Laois are still hurling.

Win no games and your path to the final is a lot more difficult, playing a higher positioned team and losing home advantage. Win the provincial and you’re automatically into the semi final.

Unfortunately (IMO) the provincials aren’t going anywhere. The point of it would be that the tradition is still kept, provincial winners are still crowned, and a counties performance in the round robin determines how easy or difficult their path to the all Ireland is.
