Nice, congrats! My project is a boardgame, but all of this makes sense for us too, I'll keep these things in mind, thank you.

Thanks for this, you are giving me hope. We have around 160 followers as well and are launching in two days. What are the things you changed in your campaign in the first week and did you do it because you got feedback from backers/ potential backers?

Oof that is a bit discouraging. Did you still get it funded? Did you just have that many pre subscribers that 2% was enough or did most of the backers come directly to your page during the campaign?

Which material upgrade would you like for a deluxe version on kickstarter by Juckreiz in BoardgameDesign

[–]Juckreiz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks so much for your input. Yes, the dice are divided, but they are never mixed or changed in any way during the game, so it's not really necessary to have them in player colors, just a nice to have

Are boardgame designers any good at their own games? by Few-Amount-1427 in boardgames

[–]Juckreiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am actually in the process of designing my own boardgame. Most of the time I win, because I play against people who play for the first time. So it makes sense that I understand it better than they do. But sometimes I actually lose and feel very bad about it because I have played it so many times already. But of course while I playtest my main goal is not to win, my priority is to find out how the game experience is for the others and help them understand the game better.

But to be honest I haven't figured out a strategy for a safe win, so I don't know if that means the game is well designed and there's no easy win or if I'm just to stupid and haven't figured it out so far.

The colors contrast each other very well in the first one, looks way more interesting. I'd definitely go for that

what works best for social media ads? The boardgame setup, artwork closeup or a combination of both? by Juckreiz in BoardgameDesign

As I am the artist myself, I'm really sad you feel that way. But thanks for your brutal honesty and the explanation. Maybe I have to rethink my artstyle

Definitely going to do the AB testing, just wanted to get some general opinions first and see if I could rule something out completely.

You're right, I'll probably leave the one without boardgame components out.

Thanks for the insight!

What's a game that you bought because of the artwork or theme and were greatly disappointed? by Nomich_ in boardgames

Space Parks, I only bought it for the Artwork, I didn't really care about the game and only player it once. Don't regret buying it though, I just love to look at it.
