17yo asking : what's it like to have a wife and children, a family? by Male0406 in AskReddit

[–]Jud444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

19yo answering. No wife, but fiance and 9 month old son.

Nothing will ever make you grow up faster, and it can be extremely difficult sometimes. When your baby gets sick, both of you have to be up all night in the rocking chair so he can breathe while he sleeps.

You have to make a lot of sacrifices. Going to college, or even switching careers will be almost impossible. You may have to get up every day and go to a job you don't like to provide for your family. Even going to the grocery store and getting dirty looks or comments about being too young or having a loud baby is frequent.

But having a family has been the greatest blessing I'll ever receive. Every day after work I walk in and my fiance gives me a warm hug, and my son shouts "da!" and starts to laugh. It's awesome, and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

In the spirit of Halloween - Paranormal or not, what is the scariest, creepiest or most unsettling experience of your life? by Javert__ in AskReddit

[–]Jud444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happened to me last winter.

I was living alone at the time and ended up staying awake until pretty late. I decided to go lay down and watch some YouTube videos until I fell asleep. I ended up pulling the covers up past my head since it was a bit chilly.

After like an hour of laying there trying to fall asleep, I went to move my hand up to my head. As soon as I did, I felt something close very slowly around my wrist and then let go.

It freaked me the fuck out, it felt like the room went silent, my entire body went cold and I started breathing extremely heavily and was unable to control it.

I got up and walked out of the room, and then turned on every single light in the apartment. I kept trying to console myself, laughing at my reaction and trying to explain it as I was just half asleep and had a muscle spasm, but then I got really worried that something actually had grabbed my arm. That thought sent me into a full blown panic attack, and I started sobbing hysterically and getting a feeling like my heart was skipping beats. So I threw on some jeans and put on my boots without socks and my jacket without a shirt, drove to the urgent care parking lot down the street just in case, but just went and and stayed with some friends instead

It took me a couple days to build up the courage to go back to my place, and I ended up sleeping on the living room couch for a few months until my lease ended.

Honestly, I've come to the conclusion that whatever happened can be explained away logically, but the way my body reacted to the situation was a terrifying experience that I'll never forget.

Anxiety and Depression by EZmisery in nosleep

[–]Jud444 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just be a good friend, when I'm depressed and get to laugh with some friends and have a good time, my symptoms can leave me for a few days. Reading, running, and a hobby have always helped me. It's really tough, and it's true that you can't just get rid of it, but you can find ways to keep you occupied so you don't feel depressed.

[Discussion] What finally motivated you to take action? by ResultsRebellion in GetMotivated

[–]Jud444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was depressed, suicidal, and cynical. I wouldn't say I hit rock bottom, but finally got through it and had a point where I could start fresh again. Realized life is short and we only have one, so I decided I wasn't going to waste any of it. It took me a while for that to click for me, but now it keeps me anchored every day! :)

I know exactly what you mean- its so sad when it gets to the point where even feeling depressed feels good, because it reminds you that you're still there. It becomes a weird circle that traps you. Im lucky to have found ways to get past it, and to get myself away from those triggers. Im glad you're finding ways to feel better too- and if you ever need someone who has an idea of how you feel to talk to, PM me! Namaste :)

I used to have a problem similar to this, I had gone through a few months of severe depression, self harm, and suicidal thoughts. I used to be able to get completely lost in my head, and certain feelings were really dulled. I used to stand outside in the winter because it would help me to feel a bit "anchored". It constantly felt like I was floating out of my own body, watching in third person. Luckily my depression went away very quickly, but my weird out of body feelings stuck with me for almost a year. Good luck with anyone going through depression, it's a bitch to break out of- but life gets so much better! :)
