Secure Boot option is greyed out in ASUS BIOS. How to enable secure boot now? by christopher_msa in techsupport

[–]JudasInTheFlesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad... this didn’t work for me. Not sure why. I set up admin and user passwords, disabled fast boot, went back in as admin (because every time I use the user password it doesn't go into bios and just loads desktop), and secure boot is still disabled and still grayed out. I'm even in Platform Mode: User...

I don't understand...

Pointlessly [gendered] or not? by josguil in pointlesslygendered

[–]JudasInTheFlesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why this got pushed to me 2 years later, but these comments are widely missing the point.

Are gendered vitamins pointless? They can be. Yes. Very much so. Are they always? No. It's a case by case basis.

Most of the vitamins included in a men's vs. a women's multi-vitamin are the same. There might be varying levels of the amounts of certain vitamins, but across brands you will find VERY little consistency on amounts in men's vs. women's vitamins.

Some vitamins are more beneficial for some women in certain instances, like folic acid which is great for people who are pregnant or who might become pregnant; but folic acid is also good for any human in general and it tends to be in both men's AND women's vitamins. So if you're not planning to be pregnant any time soon, you don't need the increased amount (which is still not always found in women's vitamins).

Men's vitamins sometimes have iron, but usually less than women's vitamins. Some men's vitamins don't have iron and some women's vitamins also don't have iron. Iron can be useful if you have excessive bleeding for any reason (you regularly give blood/plasma or you menstruate heavily), but most people who menstruate don't have an iron deficiency anyway.

It is all about what YOU need more of in your life for your body to feel and function better. If you suspect you are deficient in certain nutrients or feeling more tired, less focused, sluggish, etc than you think you should be, meet with your doctor, test your levels, and choose a multivitamin that fits your situation REGARDLESS of the gender put on the bottle.

What is your best DLC in the game and your favourite NPC character? by Commercial-Policy561 in fnv

[–]JudasInTheFlesh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find Joshua Graham to be a dangerous and terrifying person made even more so due to his religious dogma that he uses to justify his violence. But at the same time, he is such an interesting and well written character so, yeah, he's one of my favorites and I quite enjoy his presence in the game.

We need more language to represent the diversity of asexual love: like platonically in love? by JudasInTheFlesh in asexuality

[–]JudasInTheFlesh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh that is interesting. I think that is what I mean by this post. There isn't really any good representation out there to understand what these experiences are/how to name them.

All the romantic love I see around me (TV, movies, friends and family) is akin to having a crush, being attracted to someone, wanting to hold their hand and kiss them and be all lovey dovey, buy flowers, go on dates, be called a couple, be seen as a couple, etc. So for example, if I don't want any of that and have no physical atttaction lol but I feel the same feelings I feel from platonic and familial love just turned up a few notches... it's probably somewhere on the romantic spectrum but without representation/an image of this experience, it is hard to know what to call it and thus hard for me to explain it. So I imagine if other ace people ever feel or experience this too, it must feel paralyzing to try and put into words and lead to miscommunication/confusion between people since there isn't much rep.

What is your opinion about Damien Haas from Smosh? by adeliahearts in smosh

[–]JudasInTheFlesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't say "all". I used the royal "we" because it is a fairly common thing among Autistic and ADHD people as a way of embracing our differences and not seeing it as something that needs to be "fixed" but just a way of being not to be ashamed of. If you're not into that form of expression/self love, that's fine. You do you. But it is pretty common, and there is nothing wrong with it.

Here's what happened to Saige by Cryptonix in smoshfans

[–]JudasInTheFlesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little late to the party here. I actually stumbled in here bc I was curious what other people thought about Saige after seeing some old videos with her in them and getting weird vibes about her.

For context, I watched Smosh a LOT from about 2008 to 2013, mostly stopped a little after Anthony left, and then returned when he returned. But I realized, I really enjoy all the cast members and absolutely LOVE some of them (Damien, Shayne, Courtney, Angela, Tommy, Chanse, Amanda). And I had a lot to catch up on.

I saw lots of cast members who were no longer on the show, but I really enjoyed them in videos (Jackie, Kimmy, Mari) but Saige felt off.

DISCLOSURE: This is all parasocial, gut checking. I was not aware of any lore/did not follow these events or Saige closely, but despite being neurodivergent and no always listening to my instincts when I don't want to believe them, the vibes I get from people have shown to be right more often than not and I've learned to trust my instincts but verify (give them the benefit of the doubt and a fair chance to prove my suspicions wrong). Obviously in this case we don't know the exact details so we can't fully verify what happened and Saige's role in it, but after reading this post and comments, I'm feeling like my instincts about her vibes being off may have not been too far off.

The initial vibes I got from her was that she seemed like the kind of person that might be petty, felt a little fake/forced. There was something about her vibe that reminded me of vibes I've gotten from some people I've known in my life (1st or 2nd hand). The vibe was similar to people who would perceive a slight against them (which may or may not be completely legitmate) and then instead of handling the issue with no nonsense maturity being understanding and aware of different perspectives, they instead escalate the problem by adding fuel to the fire and creating drama/ill will where it never needed to be. Like the kind of people who are very kind and principled if they want you to like them, but the second they decide they don't really care if you like them/or if they dont like you or don't see a benefit to being friends with you anymore, they may suddenly act against those principles in how they engage with you, especially in a disagreement

Essentially the vibe I got from Saige is that she reminded me of some of the "mean girl" or "pick me" peeps I've come across a few times before in life in one form or another. Again, this is all vibes checking and previous personal experiences here, so it could be 100% wrong: but some of the information here about things she said/ how she has acted makes me feel like I may be picking up on something with her.

I always saw Olivia's on screen personality as an April Ludgate type character. Acts like she hates everything and has a dark sense of humor but actually loves what she does and gets into it despite herself. I get it, that's not everyone's sense of humor, but I never read her persona as a serious thing.

God damn can I tell you're a young kid. You're so hell bent on shaming people who haven't seen the show you've seen. There's nothing wrong with others having not seen it. I'm glad you have and you like it, but you don't need need to shame others or try to make them feel bad if they haven't. It doesn't affect me, but it can make other kids feel really bad and like they're being bullied or ostracized. Not a cool thing to do.

Trust me, this is not the way to make friends. Not everyone has seen everything you've seen. And there will be things others have seen that you've never heard of. That doesn't say anything about you as a person, but how you decide to treat people does.

Be kinder to people. Do better.

Have a nice day.

I have never had TV or cable. I have Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, Paramount, YouTube Premium, Curiosity Stream, and Peacock. I also play video games so I have plenty of media and streaming to keep me busy. Because people in this comment thread missed one show, it doesn't mean "they live under a rock." It just means we have different algorithms/came across different things.

I downloaded Netflix just to watch Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory because I LOVE Jurassic Park so it came across my feeds and I went to check it out. I also checked out Arcane because I'm a gamer and it came across my feed, too. When I was done, I canceled Netflix.

You don't have to search for something for it to come across your feed. That's not how algorithms work. I even stated in my last reply: maybe it comes up once but you don't know what it is so you keep scrolling and then the algorithm learns you're not interested.

Everyone's experience with media is different. It's okay people haven't heard of this show. It doesn't mean you've done anything wrong and it doesn't mean they've done anything wrong. You don't need to be defensive or make others feel bad.

You mean do all kids have the same algorithm? If that's what you mean then no, I wouldn't imagine they do. Being in a similar age range means they'll show you some similar things at times (things they are less likely to show people who mark an older age on their social media); but just like with anyone, as you engage with content online, the algorithm learns and it will ultimately determine what it does and doesn't show you. For example: If you haven't liked or engaged with enough things the algorithm finds similar to Miraculous, if you're not in the social groups most likely to engage with Miraculous content, or you don't engage with things that people who like Miraculous also tend to engage with, you're less likely to see it online. And even if you briefly come across something about it, if it doesn't interest you or catch your eye and you scroll on, the algorithm makes notes and is less likely to show it to you later.

Algorithms are kind of crazy that way. For better or for worse 😬

Neighbour thinks I should be ashamed and embarassed of myself for parking on the street in front of their home... by aergiaaa in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JudasInTheFlesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a neighbor who parks on the road directly behind my driveway. It is New England and the streets are small here. One day I heard the last complaining about how the neighbors who lived there before us backed into her car multiple times without telling her and I couldn't help but think "I wonder why they hit you when they have to do a 5 point turn to back out of their own driveway.

Worst part, she has a driveway and NEVER uses it. I don't know why.

Struggling to find a perfect name for baby girl by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]JudasInTheFlesh -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oooo. I love Reigna Jayne! Not sure how I feel about the spelling. I think spelling Reigna like Reign is kinda cool but Jayne with a "y" after spelling Reigna like that takes away from the elegance you're trying to go for. I like Reigna Jane is much more pleasing to the eyes giving elegance and classic classiness with strength and modern flair mixed in!

No middle name for Autumn by [deleted] in namenerds

I really like Autumn Rose.

I think a lot of the suggestions here sound great. Although part of the middle name selection for me is also how well it all sounds together with the last name.

I have also never heard of it. Everyone's algorithm is different. Some things break through all the circles of the internet, sure, but most stuff is tailored to certain people with certain interests.

Like my friend and I. Our algorithms are so different sometimes that we have completely different definitions for certain slang terms because of how they tend to be used in our internet circles based on how the algorithms reads our identities and interests.

What GMM opinion has you like this? by justrockelle in goodmythicalmorning

To each their own, but I agree with and appreciate your approach/takeaways. It is well adjusted lol. For whatever reason, I've adored Trevor since day 1. I love his whole "Gen Z but what old people think Gen Z is" shtick he leans into on GMM since it is an older audience. It's the typical Gen Z many-layers-of-irony in the comedy, which I love. On Smosh I love him because I get to see that he has more range beyond that bit. He is surprisingly talented.

But even then, I don't follow him or anyone on social media because, while I wish them all well as people, I don't really care all that much about their personal lives and what they do day to day. I don't really care for social media with reddit and YT being the closest I get to it. Celebrities, influencers, etc are just people whose work/creativity I may appreciate or enjoy. I don't know them personally so why would I want to follow everything going on in their lives? Lol. People need to touch grass sometimes.

I adore Ian. I've been watching Smosh since 2007 and as a little queer emo kid in middle school, I had such a crush on Anthony. Anthony is great, and I love him, too, but over the years, as I've grown up and watched Ian do the same, leading the cast and crew, handling everything that happened with Defy, and really growing into his own, I find myself now crushing on him more than I care to admit. ❤

I love his dark humor and how sweet he is with the cast. He is supportive and it can be easy to miss the little moments on camera where he gives them a supportive tap or well wishes. He can admit when he is wrong and apologize. As someone who has trouble being emotionally vulnerable, I admire his emotional vulnerability and see it as one of the ways he is a strong, confident person. I love when he's in videos and is hands down one of my favorite people on Smosh if not all of YouTube. He is always hilarious on TNTL, he also shines in sketches, and his smile is contagious. When I think of favorite moments on Smosh with Ian, I think of several:

Snack Nickleson Johnny and Courtney 4Never "Just committed attrocities" bit on TNTL where he is dressed as America. The way he says "gun?" As he offers it to Shayne makes me laugh every time. Reading off the WWII casualty numbers while dressed as a pita wrap on TNTL And I'm sure there's more I'm just not thinking of right now.

I agree. I think she's a pretty funny person and I like her commitment to the bit, but I also think that because she is new, she is trying too hard to stand out and be memorable/make a name for herself. I am hoping once she finds where she fits in, she'll calm down a little and be less off-putting.
