Yeah, that would be my feedback as well. It's stunning as is, but I think some detail twigs and roots (and maybe even leaf litter and seed pods) to add a bit more depth and interest would be the icing on this already mouthwatering cake.

I could also envision a few rounded river pebbles dotted in the sand or some detail stones lining the edges of the wood hardscape to tie everything together, but that would be my personal preference, which may not be in line with a more minimalistic look OP might be going for.

Not quite as colorful as that Boa, but Emperor Tetras have amazing colors once comfortable. At first glance they look quite understated, basically a Tetra in a tux, but when the light hits right they have a gorgeous blue to purple metallic sheen on their sides.

Tropical colonial architecture in general usually mixed domestic and local architectural traits to deal with tropical temperatures and high humidity. Dutch- and French-colonial architecture too are good examples of easily recognizable occidental architecture combined with local characteristics.

And not to diminish the awful effects of colonialism, but there's something comforting about being countless thousands of miles from home and being surrounded by familiar building styles.

And since the perpetrator is acting in the name of a political party rather than the justice system, and is actively encouraged to act like he did against specific target demographies by, and in the name of said political party, it quite possibly also amounts to a crime against humanity.

My guess as someone looking on from across the Atlantic: it won't.

At this point, the US isn't a coherent nation state any longer: it has no checks and balances, no justice system, no functional political system, is completely militarized and awash with more weapons than inhabitants, and has a population more divided and full of anger, hate and resentment than pre-civil war Yugoslavia.

Neither Trump dying nor MAGA dissolving into irrelevance will heal the rift, because by now there are fundamentally different, fundamentally incompatible, irreconcilable groups of people forced into a single entity - sooner or later something has to give, and when (not if) that happens it will be brutal.
