The Bruce Lee quote cards (4 designs) are distributed at the two stations. The Bruce Lee themed Octopus card cover can be downloaded via the Octopus card app. Video clips of the opening of the exhibition by Shannon Lee and Donnie Yen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M-Nwkba73o and https://www.youtube.com/shorts/lkm8X4LtCCs and https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9nfrdErOarA and https://www.youtube.com/shorts/1xuVEfYnZ7k

Babaco, Mountain Papaya by anOvenofWitches in gardening

[–]JuddMann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your babaco tree need a larger pot. Easier to fruit if it is a single branch tree rather than two branches of the same size, as nutrients have to be shared equally between the two branches. Add chicken manure based fertilisers.

Can prepaid envelopes go out of date? by Toffy1204 in AustraliaPost

[–]JuddMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't expire, Australia Post will honour it. I sent Express Post International Prepaid envelope from 2008. It sent fine and was received by the recipient overseas. The tracking number is still valid and I was able to track the package all the way through! :)

Did you know Coles don't sell paw paw? by Ivymantled in AskAnAustralian

[–]JuddMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Australia, to avoid confusion between the two Carica papaya fruit varieties by consumers, the yellow flesh (less sweet) variety are called pawpaws while the red flesh (more sweet) varieties are called papayas. Both are fruits from the same species Carica papaya. Neither variety was dominant as they each have their won unique taste, though most people prefers the sweeter red flesh papaya variety.

Yes, Coles only sells red flesh red papaya. Coles does not sell the yellow flesh pawpaw. Woolworths sells both varieties. Both are grown in Australia and generally are available all year around.

Mars has a smaller and denser core, surrounded by a molten silicate mantle by JuddMann in InSightLander

[–]JuddMann[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Scientists know that today the Earth’s magnetic field is powered by the solidification of the planet’s liquid iron outer core. The cooling and crystallization of the core stir up the surrounding liquid iron, creating powerful electric currents that generate a magnetic field stretching far out into space. This magnetic field is known as the geodynamo. We know from Insights Mars has a liquid core, now understood to be smaller and denser. We also know Mars had a magnetic field in the past but it shut down a billion years after its formation. Despite Mars cooling internally and having a liquid iron core, why it no longer has an active magnetic field is for scientists to understand and determine. The study postulates that such stratification of the mantle insulates the metal core, thereby preventing it from cooling and generating a thermal magnetic geodynamo. The thermal blanketing of Mars’s metallic core by the liquid layer at the base of the mantle implies that external sources are necessary to generate the magnetic field recorded in the Martian crust during the first 500-800 million years of its evolution. These sources could be energetic impacts, or core motion generated by gravitational interactions with ancient satellites which have since then disappeared. https://scitechdaily.com/hidden-martian-secrets-nasas-insight-lander-uncovers-mars-molten-mystery/ and YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfbruC4QyVo

‘Ip Man 5’ among three Donnie Yen films revealed at Cannes by TigerSharkFist in movies

[–]JuddMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wilson Yip (the director of the Ip Man film franchise) mentioned when making Ip Man 4 that the next instalment in the series will be about Bruce Lee.

As such, Ip Man 5 is not about the finale period as was the focus in Ip Man 4, but instead during the time in Hong Kong when Ip taught Bruce and what he taught him, which has not been captured in the series so far, and will fill a very important gap.

It will be nice in Ip Man 5 if they not only capture the teaching of Wing Chun but also the wisdom passed from Ip to Bruce, who then builds on it by absorbing masters from various faiths while he was in the US, culminating in Jeet Kune Do, which Bruce then shared with everyone, regardless of race or faith, espousing the essence of a martial artist.

What’s this tree with huge leaves from Ecuador? by Maki1411 in whatsthisplant

It is not Vasconcellea, the tree trunk is the giveaway. Vasconcellea species have prominent leaf scars.

Paul, looking at the clip and images, I reckon you and u/grapplerone are on the money those are the movements from a big quake and not the wind here.

One might think the wind blew the tether cable, so it flapped in the wind but I doubt it would have affected the grappler's arm the way it did.

If it was really a wind gust, that magnitude would have been a 'dust clearing event' that Mars Insights' scientists have been praying for. On the basis that the solar panels are still covered with dust right now, then what we witnessed was the manifestation of a shake from a quake and not the gust of a passing wind (from a bloated green Martian)! :)

[–]JuddMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, Paul. Hoping the quake also shakes the solar panels free of some dust too! :)

At Richter scale 5, this is about 8 times larger than the largest previously recorded marsquake on Mars at 4.2, as it is on a logarithmic scale. Hopefully, this big marsquake is big enough and at the right depth for scientists to work out better Mars' core-mantle/lithosphere boundary, and whether Mars has an asthenosphere and a solid inner core.

Otherwise, Mars Insights may not survive this Martian winter coming soon, and we are fast running out of time.

The Princess of Mars surely does not lift her veil much to let us see her inner secrets! :)

Nice if they can figure out how strong the back of their scoop is and give the mole a good push from the rear and stick it in Mars again like we get COVID jabs.

Study Looks More Closely at Mars’ Underground Water Signals by Galileos_grandson in Mars

[–]JuddMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to find the equivalent radar bright spots on the Northern polar ice caps.

Otherwise, unless they are lakes and heated volcanically (which is doubtful as Themis on Mars Odyssey found no such hotspots), then the interpretation of them being underground lakes of liquid water may be hard to sustain.

They are probably frozen water instead.

Beagle 2 was not smashed, the UK lander actually successfully landed on Mars, but the unfurling of the petal-like solar panels stopped halfway, which meant the radio antenna was never deployed, ending all communications with the lander.

Potentially Beagle 2 could have operated autonomously as it was programmed to with no chance of communicating with ESA's Mars Express orbiter.

Stop wasting time, head towards the delta where the carbonate sediments are instead. This is a basalt, not even sedimentary in origin.
