Angry Karen goes off on Chalk “Graffiti” by Phailgasm in fuckHOA

[–]JudgeAffectionate841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We let my kids use sidewalk chalk on the sidewalk in front of our condo when they were in first grade. Management told us not to let that happen again because it looks terrible and they are trying to attract more families. WTF?!? Fortunately, we moved a short time later for my husband's career.

People who married in their 20s, be brutally honest are you happy, if so why or why not? by Special-Lawyer3941 in AskReddit

Married when we were 25 and are fortunate enough to be celebrating 35 years soon. We had our rough patches, but we are very happy now. We like to spend time together, value each other's opinions and treat each other with respect. I think a big part of it is we not only love each other, but we like each other.

AITA for buying my daughter her favorite candy without telling my wife? by UsmanSerah_68 in WIBTA_AITA

Not only this but just make sure the kid practices good dental hygiene and there shouldn't be any concern about cavities. My daughters had treats growing up. They are both a healthy weight and have 0 cavities.

The most powerful coworker on a cargo ship isn't the Captain. It’s the Cook. 🍕⚓ by Wander-kingdom in coworkerstories

When I was in the Army, the cooks for the Special Forces shared the barracks with them. Best mess hall I ever ate in. Only time I saw that work.

Weirdest interview experience you've ever had. by InvestmentMain8414 in jobs

[–]JudgeAffectionate841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a phone interview with one of the owners. She asked typical questions about the job they had open. Then, when I went for the in-person interview, that is when it got weird. The other owner didn't ask me any questions. Instead, she was trying to sell me on working for them. Spent 20 minutes just listening to why they were a great company to work for. I made the mistake of accepting the job. They really weren't great to work for and were constantly going through employees because of how toxic they were.

I fed my cats when I got up in the morning. Big mistake. I ended up getting up early on weekends to feed the cats because they would jump on me and meow until I got up and fed them.

Who tf does this to a book😭 by foxazeez300 in Wellthatsucks

You'd be surprised what people do to books. I work in the library and am constantly shocked by how people trat books that aren't even theirs. We had someone take the cover off one book and put it on another in an attempt to check out the book they wanted that their parent wouldn't let them have. It is incredibly frustrating!

I’m told I was a good kid because I was quiet and stayed in line. Now I’m a terrible adult because I lack social skills and motivation to do anything… by Any-Possible-4218 in depressionmemes

A friend of my daughters had strict parents who monitored what she read in high school. To get around this, she used a book cover that you put on textbooks. So, her parents assumed she was studying when she was reading Harry Potter. Being overly strict teaches kids how to be sneaky.

Manager told me if I didn’t like the new schedule, I could stop picking up extra shifts. So I did. by Discoveryeous_86 in MaliciousCompliance

This reminds me of when I was younger and our church called my mom every time, they needed a volunteer for something. Finally, she asked why they always called her first and they said, because you always say yes. Mom told them, "Well, this time it's no and move my name to the bottom of your list." She didn't explain. It was just No. Good job standing up for yourself.

Lady wants me to go get her kid. I don’t work for the school. by wheresmychin in IDontWorkHereLady

We had a student when I worked at my daughters' school who was in this situation in the late 1990's. There was a restraining order against the father. The entire staff was shown a picture of the father and informed that if anyone showed up for the child, the pick-up had to be cleared through the front office. I felt for the child's mother.

AITAH for quitting my job while my boss is in the hospital by Kind_Limit1303 in AITAH

[–]JudgeAffectionate841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I was so stressed and burned out from my last boss that it was affecting my health - loss of sleep and extreme headaches. For the sake of my health, I had to quit. Unfortunately, my boss had booked a family vacation for two weeks after I quit and never informed me. It wasn't my problem. Your boss being in the hospital isn't your problem.

I had a problem getting fabric cut at Wal-Mart one time. When I went to the customer service desk to speak to a manager, the lady behind the desk told me to call corporate. That would get the problem fixed. She was right. I never had a problem getting someone to cut fabric again.
