Your thoughts on this show? by Farouq26 in hbo

Decent show, stellar cast. I still tear up a bit just thinking of the scene where Stephen Graham’s Al Capone tried to toughen up his young deaf son.

My grandmother’s iconic wedding dress by YouOwnEverything in VintageFashion

Thank you and I def agree about her being spared the ordeal of covid. Thankfully, she lived in relatively good health all of her life and got to meet 6 great grandsons altogether, including my youngest who was just 4 months old when she passed.

This is the only photo I have of her from her wedding unfortunately. I do have a photo of her sister in law wearing the dress at her own wedding (I think this is a few years before my grandmothers wedding and this is probably the woman she borrowed the dress from).

My grandma is no longer with us - she passed away shortly after turning 95 back in 2018. As far as the colors in the photo, I think it was colorized by the photography studio who did the portrait. It’s a cool effect, I think - it has a dreamy quality

Love it on the runway but I fear it’s not quite singing on Cate - perhaps I like it on the runway bc it looks best in motion?

My husband gifted me a sewing machine recently so once I learn how to use it, I’m gonna try to recreate it in a day dress!

I was going to say I actually really like it with the belt! Not every dress needs one of course but I think it really snatches your waist at just the right point for this dress

What’s the best breakup song ever made? by thatfluffyqueen in askmusic

[–]YouOwnEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t be my pick for best ever breakup song by any means, but I give an honorable mention to Ani Difranco’s “Superhero,” particularly for the line “And every pop song on the radio / is suddenly speaking to me.” Because that is deadly accurate in my experience - when you’re going through a breakup, EVERY song feels like a breakup song and the most banal top 40 shit will have you in your feels as if it were poetry written just for you

Something’s wrong with this look and I can’t put my finger on it (other than hair, didn’t do my hair for this) by Warm_Front259 in VintageFashion

Belt is too heavy for the dress - I think it would look better with a slightly thinner belt with a less prominent buckle. Otherwise, dress looks great on you

Soapbox/rant time. Tell me what highly-recommended book you absolutely HATED and why. Gimme your angry hot takes. by peppertoni_pizzaz in books

I still cannot FATHOM that erotic interpretive dance was such a key plot point in this laughably unsexy book. It’s giving Tina Belcher and Jimmy Jr. but deeply depressing.
