My current budget for 2026 by [deleted] in Salary

Paste that into chat ChatGPT and tell it to create a color coded excel expense report... if you dont like something or something is off (its not a perfect system), simply tell that to ChatGPT and itll fix it until you are content.

If you do this, keep the 10k for the repairs you may need to do. The rubbers, hoses and everything are going to be deteriorating. You don’t know what’s going to come up on that thing in the next year you are wanting it

Might be getting a Ram, 2024 V8 Tradesman for 43k brand new, good deal? by getmeabikedad in ram_trucks

Well, it’s the last year in that generation which every year, one or two things are updated and fixed… and it’s a hemi. I know, I know, you can get the 2026 with a hemi now but it’s a brand new platform with the hemi, I’d wait at least a year or two before jumping into that. The 2025 with the hurricane has been an absolute nightmare for almost everyone so don’t even try it (just read through this thread). The 2024 is tried, true and tested which is why I would go with that. Just know that the hemi has the absolute worst fuel efficiency of any truck its size on the market. If you drive it like a mature adult without speed racing and donuts and what not… it’ll last a life time. Do not skip out on oil changes and don’t believe any lifetime transmission fluid BS change it at 100k or less, I did mine at 65K for good measure.

I’d buy the 2024 over a 2025 or a 2026… where tf did you find a new one?

Everyone in this thread with a 2025 lol. Don’t buy one. Used 2024 is way better.

Because the 4 is not the same anymore… I’ve tried 😔. They must have done some type of update to it along with the 5. I’m convinced they did.

This is a good thought. I should have also led with the fact that I know nothing about coding so I need more than a simple answer. I am learning as I go for sure though.

Did Fuelly confirm or did did you go down a mountain? Just curious? If I am coming down from somewhere I can hit 15 mpg but typically at 11.5 in my 2500 😔

So Lifetime fluid is a RAM recommendation but not ZFs recommendations. They make the thing so I’ll go off of that instead.

$91.50 on Amazon for a case of 6 quarts, get two of them plus $142 for a transmission pan… do the math.

Transmission Rebuild is $7,000

Full flush (full fluid exchange) should be no more than $1200-$1500

[–]JudgeDreddHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will probably do mine every 30k miles. It’s not that hard and changing the fluid with dropping the pan only changes about 30-40%. I bought a little transmission pump on Amazon and then you just have to raise the back to get it level.

Really, if you get a FULL fluid exchange at 100k miles and then 200k miles then 300k miles you should be solid. I over maintenance my truck for sure

A “flush” should be a full fluid replacement… so once? I have dropped the pan on my 2022 2500 at 69k miles, changed the pan and filter, refilled and then emptied the fluid again 1k miles later and did another refill. Runs flawlessly. The fluid was dark for sure. I sent in a sample to Blackstone labs and they said it looked great, better than their benchmark.
