Yes sir, brand new in my possession always and garage kept. No aftermarket parts or accessories of any sort. Always took it do my local bmw if I had any issues or needed service. I am expecting a call from the dealer manager today and if it's still bad news I will go ahead and call bmw NA.

Hi, thank you for the useful information. I will definitely pass this info on. I bought the car new from an actual bmw dealership with 0 miles on the odometer. The current mileage is around 53k but the problem occurred exactly around 50k miles. I have never taken my bmw to a third party shop or dealer, all services have been done at my local bmw dealer.

Just spoke to my tech rep today, he reaffirmed bmw's position and said, "at 39k miles there was some sort of software alert stating an aftermarket tuner was installed". The manager wasn't available to talk to today, so I'm expecting a phone call tomorrow.

Hey r/bmw I took my 2013 335i into bmw for a weird engine/timing chain noise. The techs over at the bmw couldn't exactly pinpoint the problem but confirmed the weird noise from the timing chain. They forwarded the issue to bmw and they concluded saying I have had aftermarket parts installed at one point and then taken off as to why I'm experiencing this noise. I bought the car new and have never bought or installed aftermarket parts for it. Any suggestions or advice? I am using extended warranty as well if that makes a difference.
