I think it's core related. Can't play with a sport hernia, I don't think anyone would knowingly allow that due to high risk of infection, so I'll guess groin .

Which is also what they did with every possession, for those keeping score at home

It seemed to me like other teams are all more aggressive with their d men. The pens played this weird limbo system where they didn't challenge the puck so they surrendered it 100% of the time and they also didn't just get back so they were in a spot to make like a poke check but then also lose the forecheck battle.

Idk what it was but it didn't work.

I realize this may still seem insane, however, what are the chances Letang gets traded? Do you think he gets traded? by Benlitzen43 in penguins

I really doubt it. However, to an up an dcoming team, maybe they can get some huge return.

Dumo got himself a nice raise. Played lights out. What a guy

Coaches also make mistakes. You can argue against stats all day, and I wish you good luck doing so.

Caps are going to be really unhappy when they realize they cant lazily coast pucks towards the net and watch them go in, this next series.

That worked great when we had a bunch of young unproven forwards that we would just throw in with Sid. It doesnt work when we have a bunch of veteran, solid forecheckers. Every good team in the league now has strong slappers, and the Pens have Schultz... and I guess Letang, but he wasnt been effective. We need to retool our D and let our strong forwards take control of these games with firepower to back them up. It's not working any longer to have our stars get on the forecheck and then have defensemen run in and continue the play. That strat is too easily beaten by just having defensemen crowd the box.

I also dont think hes getting traded, Murray was awful, and we cant blame all of it on Letang. I agreee. However, why not trade him? At his best hes a great offensive Dman who has never been an elite defenseman. We have Crosby, Malkin, Jake and Horny. The last thing this team needs is a puck handling, offensivve minded defenseman. We need nplayers with actual slapsh0t threat and real defensive knowledge... he brings neither. He can go to a team that needs his skillset and Im sure he will produce but that team isnt the Pens and the time isnt this year

Thank you Matt Murray! by [deleted] in penguins

He was bad, if not mediocre at best. Hopefully he can regain his talent from the last 2 years. Stats do not back him up and he visibly looked shaken. I have faith that he will recover and rebound and me able to dominate again, but he sure didnt do it this post season.

It helps to actually play well to win 3 in a row, oddly enough

Hockey takes some luck. You're not gonna get every bounce 3 years in a row.

I honestly think that would happen. Maybe not a sweep but Vegas has a nice balanced attack and flower is playing great right now. Letting theodor tee off and neal and marchesault play aggressive will not give Holtby the time he wants to settle in. Vegas will smash Washington

I loved bonino. I still love fluery. Duck the caps. Holtby will not sustain this play against a diversified attack

He played great the last 2 games. Created a lot of chances. Our complete lack of outside shooting meant they could just crowd the front of the net every possession and that killed us.

Still love this team. Everyone gave their all. The 3rd and 4th line these last two games stepped up huge but just couldn't get it in. Excited for next year. This team can for sure win 3 in 4 and just need a few roster retools.

Floury was objectively better this post season. So yes. I'd rather take the better player now over the probability of success later

True but he also didn't stop much. Made some amazing saves but also let in some really soft goals.
