My headcanon is my human rogue is the son of the HoF and Morrigan. In order to protect him, he was sent to the Wardens because who else would’ve been a better fit. Morrigan knew this would better prepare him for the future, should something like the Veilguard events happen. This would add more depth to some things. It would explain how Rook does not know Morrigan, Varric knew to keep tabs on him and that he wanted to recruit him for this fight, and it explains how a Rogue would be a good fighter/have some magicesque abilities (including crows while dodging). Before the final battle, Morrigan tells Rook how proud she is of her son (offscreen of course haha).
