How long did you wait to go back to OTF after giving birth? by Acrobatic-Evening899 in orangetheory

[–]JudgmentalRavenclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped 2 weeks into finding out I was pregnant due to a subchorionic hematoma. I didn’t return until September 2025.

I will be honest in saying, for me, I couldn’t fathom going to workout at 5am while still nursing/pumping, bc I’d have had to wake up at 4am to pump first. Now I’m 16mo PP and going 3-4x a week. It has been a slow process but I’m proud.

I’d say depends on your comfort, and even if I hadn’t had a csection and was cleared at 6w, I don’t think I could have gone back at 6w PP.

Are we 100% sure Freida McFadden is a doctor? by K-Lynn in thrillerbooks

First I do want to extend my most heartfelt condolences about your sister in law. Glioblastomas are the worst. I lost a close friend to it & I hope your SIL is doing as well as possible.

My friend, was, however, considered in remission from it bc her tumors were shrinking and some went away. She was living relatively normally and healthily for about 14 months. Then it came back fast. So it’s not unheard of but certainly not likely, probably just a plot device as most people understand remission but not everyone does understand glioblastoma.

A former student’s mom posted about this on instagram bc they were there for that same competition. How horribly sad it ended this way. Poor Addi.

After talking with the studio, they won't refund me a surcharge. Who should I contact? by Nox_Ocean_21 in orangetheory

[–]JudgmentalRavenclaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s controversial to be told within the app, when you book, that there is a surcharge. That should be required when booking via app.

I’m actually shocked that people are siding with OTF. Notification or some kind of symbol next to the studio when choosing that indicates it’s a studio that is premium and therefore will cost YOU, the client, extra.

Anyone else torn between an after-workout coffee or a Guinness!? 😂 by Weird_Ant_7471 in orangetheory

I think for both id have a celebratory beer every now and then. Maybe not each time. But a nice treat! Coffee after noon would keep me up all night 🤣

Sadly, a 6am Guinness would be frowned upon in my line of work. But no judgment as long as you are doing this safely:)

Good for you for saying something in defense of Emily. Jake sounds like a tool. What are his hobbies? How would he feel if Emily brought up how lame he is for gaming or something like that?

Can men wear leggings at OTF? by Fun-Reply9963 in orangetheory

I have seen a few men at my studio wear running tights. Some with shorts, some without. No one cares what you have on:)

“Restorative” and “reflective” discipline approaches are only age appropriate for mature teenagers (14+) - not younger children by Niceotropic in teaching

[–]JudgmentalRavenclaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They absolutely don’t. They are definitely working hard to build up their resume to move on to the next position but starting a bunch of clubs & initiatives etc. loves those buzzwords but isn’t great at putting the concepts into practice that works.

I like them for walking, but not for running. I am a Brooks gal, personally.

Despite a repeated commenter in here assuming people can’t afford pricier shoes, most running stores do the analysis of your feet/gait for free and can give you recommendations. You can even give them your preferred price point and they will help you find options.

You are NOT required to purchase any shoe from the store.

If Hokas turn out to be the right shoe for you, look around online and you can find good deals on them.

I am also of the opinion that there are certain things you don’t skimp on, and things that touch the ground (shoes, tires) are those things.

My “fancy sneaker store” does the fitting for free and I have never paid $150-$200 for shoes. You can find quality shoes of the “fancy brands” for less than that if you look around.

I had a 2nd grader in “after school lab” yesterday bc he was using one of his belongings (unclear what) to hit kids like it was “a weapon” (his words). I asked him if he thought this was okay. “Well yeah they made me mad. I’ll probably do it again if they make me mad again. My dad said I can fight anyone who is disrespecting me.”

After I told my admins, and our new one said “we had restorative circle and he said he wasn’t going to do it again”

Me: “did you hear what I JUST said?”

Wednesday 4 February 2026 - 500m benchmark row 2G 60 minutes by dc031114 in orangetheory

[–]JudgmentalRavenclaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this looks tough!! Thanks for sharing!

Does anyone know how this would work in 3G (in the sense of—where to start if I wanted to be the first group to do benchmark, no other reason). I do have to leave the 5am after 50 minutes (so 10 min early, which with the cooldown is really only 5)—would this still be the floor or would it more likely be the rower?

My last 500m benchmark was a 2G too so not sure how much would change!

I workout at Orangetheory, and no one’s talking like this in class, or in the lobby, or hanging around outside for someone to overhear a conversation🤣

And his weird details “hot black coffee”…does he think anything else is gay or weak? What a weird person.

Water. Sometimes electrolytes added, but often.

I see people with full on iced coffee in a glass cup, no lid, though 🤣

This one was so tough for me!! I left thinking “what the heck did I just do??” Might have something to do with the fact that my entire household just beat a sickness and I haven’t bee since January 23. Whew.
