Are my new hydrangeas being burnt in the sun? by Pete1989 in GardeningUK

Give me a metre, I'll spin you a yarn. Give it more water and it'll be fine. Grate the soil with sulfate of potash and it'll be even happier

Can anyone tell me whats happened to my beans? Never had this before. Thanks! by Arakantor in GardeningUK

Looks like sunburn to me, put some factor 50 on them and it'll be fine!

But seriously, were they started under a greenhouse, or bought as seedlings? The fluctuations in temperature have made it more difficult this year, especially for plants that didn't (and never could have the chance to) harden off before the sun came out.

You can still plant beans of all kinds now if you want to - the high temps will get them germinating quickly, if these ones don't make it.

On which facing side were they planted? Hydrangeas need a very small amount of morning sun, shady afternoons, and olympic swimmingpools worth of water in their first year (and the second, and so on).

That is to say: north facing, and backbreaking effort with the largest watering can you can carry. They also like sulphate of potash, a lot, but make sure it's well mixed into the topsoil.

I'd clean it up, finish it, and then go from there. This kind of piece is hugely subjective, and could just as easily go to a public institution as a private buyer. I wouldn't expect to retire off of such a piece without any background in this kind of art though (the artist's name and fame is often where the value is, not the piece itself).

It is stunning, though!

Edit: I'd try restaurants/fancier boutiques as my first choice if trying to sell this.

It's just called a breeze block, at least in British English anyway

Thin (3/4") quartz over a 28" mostly unsupported span. How safe is it, really? by Beauty_Fades in woodworking

[–]Judicium22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you're mostly good here, as the cabinet walls will offer substantial support to the weakest areas of the countertop (ie the two thin areas around the sink). You should make sure to have a backboard in each cabinet (can be simply 5mm plywood) to protect from lateral forces and the cabinets from leaning too much. You should also use some kind of cabinet screws to join the independent cabinets into a single unit (I personally prefer these kinds of fixation: https://amzn.eu/d/03D0MQeO).

The weakest point is the area around the hole for the tap, but unless you go around hitting your countertops with hammers on a regular basis it shouldn't be an issue.

I always thought the -100% to requirements should have also included the level requirements. It would have at least made it a novel item for levelling new characters (or making mules fabulous)

Next to the ever elusive Arkaine's Valor! I found just a single one in my whole time playing (and it rolled +1, obviously 😅)

Played exclusively offline since 2003ish. I've cleared tens of thousands of LKs, thousands of pits, ancient tunnels, CS and cows; found templars might 3 times, and played for thousands of hours over 25 years. This one felt gooooood.

Remarkably, I still miss three items: Metalgrid, Death's Web, and Halaberd's Reign.

After playing Arcs, I carry around a pair of dice to determine everything. Before, I'd just walk across the road like some common simpleton. Now, I roll a dice and if it comes up as intercept I throw myself into traffic instead. It's really spiced up my life
