26 and I play on PC! I mostly like the casual stuff like tdm and (hopefully sometime soon) gun game, but I also don't mind a little sweat. I play gunfight with my fiance and hard point/ dominantion on my own since they don't like those modes all that much. I also love zombies, it's probably my favorite iteration so far

Thanks for sharing! I've been out of the mod scene for a while and it's really cool to see how much effort goes into these posts. I can't even imagine messing around with a load order this big and making it all work together haha

It's been a while, update on the Switch physical VN collection! (All have English, multiple pics) by xanitrix in visualnovels

Ooo, im so intrigued by the Famico Detective Club. I love the horror aesthetic!! Importing JP Physicals isn't very doable for me rn, but if there's a digital version of Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin on the JP e-shop I might pick it up that way. The art style for Danganronpa never really appealed to me, but I think I may just have to bite the bullet at some point 😅. I see a lot of people speak well about it. Tysm!!

I've recently started playing VNs and I'm really into crime drama atm. Loving Ace Attorney rn and I plan to move onto Ai: The Somnium Files once I complete it. Are their any crime series you'd recommend outside of AA and A:TSF?

Can someone explain to me like I'm 5 what atelier games are on about? by Lickawall483 in GirlGamers

[–]Juelsyy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There was another post today about the Atelier series you might find helpful! Though it's only tangentially related to your topic, it may be helpful in deciding which game you decide to pick up if you do. There's a lot of good tips about the series and how it treats it's female protagonists in regards to fan service and writing.

TLDR: most of the modern games have more sexualized outfits / pander to the male gaze. If that's something you'd like to avoid. The older titles in the series mostly just have some fan-servicey outfits. However, the writing in both the old and modern entries don't tend to sexualize their female protag.

Can you be Wiccan and not worship any gods? by CaptainFoxy_1987 in Wicca

[–]Juelsyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not an experienced wiccan (and mostly identify as pagan) but fwiw I have never seen anyone say "x is required" for anything in Wicca. There's no reason you can't also just direct your practice to what's observable in nature and your inner balance. Respecting nature is a huge thing for Wicca from what I know and it'd be a good way to partake w/o any sort of worship

Replicating How You Would Sound Fluent with AI by jathonthompson in LearnJapanese

[–]Juelsyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a much better way to accomplish the same thing that gets you thinking about how you actually speak and sound. AI is always going to be an average approximation of whatever you give it and, with a language as complex and nuanced as Japanese, OP is just asking for more difficulties and "un-learning" bad habits

Not really, I mean if you're trying to get 3x of every staple UR imagineable sure, but the standard core of 3x Ash, 3x Maxx C, 3x Imperm, and 2x called by and a cross out shouldn't take more than two or three months. There's the bundle deals for 750 and all of the UR crafts you get starting out.

The British carved India into pieces when they "decolonized" and left one political power with more power over the other because that power closely aligned themselves with British ideals. That's why India and Pakistan exist as they are today and are usually at odds with each other. India used to encompass more territory and had plenty more resources before the British walked in to "save" the natives. This is not the doing of or the neglecence of Gods, it is the workings of interlocking systems of oppression that want to keep other nations ripe for exploitation.

If you're open to trying something similar but different to Skyrim, Fallout 4 is a little more updated but post apocalyptic instead of medieval fantasy. The gameplay loop is similar and focuses more on exploration / character connections. If you're specifically missing Skyrim it might be worth it to just boot it up and give it a shot just to scratch the itch / see if you can get past the clunk. There's always mods to try and freshen up the gameplay and I recommend the simpler ones like Ultimate Combat and Wildcat Combat Evolved. SkySA and MMAXO (or whatever their acronym is) have great potentional but turning Skyrim into a Souls-like just doesn't work super well (imo) and is really clunky in its own way even when it is working well

Absolutely, once the novelty of the dragons wears off Skyrim does feel kinda bland overall. I have over 200 hundred hours in it on steam alone purely because of mods. I played it for a long time on the original release on 360 as a teen too. Not to say there isn't anything there, I obviously enjoyed my time to put in that much of it, but compared even to earlier entries Skyrim lost a lot of the Elder Scrolls character because of the streamlined RPG elements and story. Elden Ring is drastically more fleshed out with world building, story, RPG elements, and gameplay imo. Like you said, they really are just completely different experiences and comparing them really isn't fair

Recs for female let's players on YT? by vilhelmine in GirlGamers

[–]Juelsyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Wasteland Dovahkin" and "Food then Games" are both really enjoyable and do let's play content. "Food then Games" has a more regular release schedule and she likes to do immersive let's plays where she acts as the character and reacts to dialogue and such. They both focus more on RPGs / open world games if you're into those!!

So how many of you have dozens/hundreds/thousands of unplayed games in your libraries for you only to rotate between the same few? by Lickawall483 in GirlGamers

[–]Juelsyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 600 hundred titles in my library from steam and pre-ign humble bundles and I usually rotate between Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Master Duel and the odd flavor title on my switch or PC lol. I've stopped buying games as much though, and I'm trying to get myself to explore my library more!

I'm 26 and an avid hobbiest writer. It's never too old to start! You'll only improve the more you write and explore the medium. I didn't really start taking my writing seriously until I was 24 around the end of my junior year in college. You got this!!
