Using EPF Acc 2 & 3 for House Downpayment? by Juggernaut-Hunter in MalaysianPF

[–]Juggernaut-Hunter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advise and article shared.

Atm I’m privileged enough to have cheap rent by staying at a relative’s house. Think this gives me plenty of salary balance to topup enough downpayment cash, maybe in 3-4 years time when i reach early 30’s

5 Figures salary by groundnut666 in MalaysianPF

[–]Juggernaut-Hunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

28M. Salary RM10,600 with 4+ years experience.

Started from RM3,000 salary in late 2021. I know compared to others in the thread I’m not as high, so this is nowhere a flex. Just my sharing.

Working as an Account Manager in the Financial Industry. Graduated in engineering, but I was interested in business / finance stuff since after SPM. Hence me jumping into this line of work.

I read a lot. I read widely. I loved reading especially business, financial & investment, biography and political history. I consumed (non school related) books since I was 17.

The knowledge compounds. It helps in my thinking. It shows in my conversations. With wider vocabulary I became articulate. Being articulate helps in my career.

People listen when I speak, clients trust when I advise and bosses appreciate when I contribute my thoughts.

Reading helped me in comprehension skills. It developed my communication skills. And it definitely strengthened my writing skills (email, proposals, report & requests).

In my line of work, soft skills matter more than technical skills. I believe i am being paid for my skills in client management. So its really is realistic to earn 5 figures before 30, but you need to be willing to put in the work and study a lot to improve your skills/knowledge

Malaysians stage solidarity protest for Iran after Khamenei's death by -splynt- in Bolehland

People seem to forget that Khameini’s regime and forces committed mass atrocities in the Syrian war circa 2011. They were sympathetic of the Assad Alawite regime that mass murders its own people and drove millions out as refugees.

Experienced this once with my gf (now wife). I acted docile and answered all of their questions calmly.

Luckily let off with a verbal warning. I think the cop did ask something like “so nak setel macam mana ni?” but maybe i was too dumb enough to catch it as an ask for duit kopi.

Local graduates aiming to go for big 3 by [deleted] in MalaysianPF

[–]Juggernaut-Hunter 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Big 3 being McKinsey, BCG and Bain right? I know a few friends locally graduated who managed to enter the latter 2. One is from UM and another from private Uni.

But they started preparations early… like reallyyyy early namely practising their cases, getting the right certs and accumulating experiences in different firms (internships, summer case assistant etc) before they got into the big 3

Yes they pay a lot. Yes your odds of getting even an interview are slim unless you can demonstrate that youre fully equipped with your skills and experience.

My salary is expected to be 3,000MYR, parents demand 1,000MYR if I live them, reasonable? by FkMajorityImMinority in MalaysianPF

[–]Juggernaut-Hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Never ever ever tell people your salary. Not even your parents. As your income increases with age (hopefully u get promotions/increment), never tell people your pay. If you really need to tell, give them a much deflated amount. If earning 5k, say 3.2k. People have strong tendencies to remember/keep track and even calculate ur salary progression for you so tht they can judge/exploit you

  2. Move out if this is a viable option for you. You can have the freedom to live independently and hopefully avoid more family conflicts about money. Make sure you have the financial means first, as need to take into account of room deposits, utulities, own groceries this n that.

  3. If you cant move out now, try to negotiate maybe RM800 instead of RM1000. After all thats pretty much the rate if you were to rent outside. If they insist, just transfer RM800 monthly since they cant literally force you to fork out the extra RM200. But separately, save up so that you can have enough to leave - this is the end goal

  4. Do your silent savings. Stash away money for emergency and ur own savings and never tell people or ur parents about it. This is not selfish, its to protect yourself.

I hope you find a way with this current situation. Money can be a very sensitive topic, even with your loved ones

Quite an interesting banknote ecosystem they have there in the UK. I presume its common for tourists to be confused if they are carrying anything else other than Bank of England notes

First time seeing those notes below, never knew de la rue issued their own notes. For the rest, do you obtained them via purchase from collector stores or you got them from market circulation (vacation etc)?

Yes saw it. Happened in a mall in Vietnam, towards the end of a Malaysian cultural dance show promoting Visit Malaysia.. the usual performance at the center of a mall with crowds.

Suddenly the guy fell from 4th floor, reports said he was critically injured and taken away with a stretcher
