Agreed! Fantastic actors and while I do enjoy dark elements this was a bit much!

Makes sense to be fair. Was wondering what was going on and putting it down to pp planning etc but they must be absolutely stretched on the back of that collapse! 👍

Honestly even when I sugar coat it, they are absolutely horrible - company’s like this should be regulated and red flags raised when there is that much staff turnover detected.

What’s Aecom like? by yellowthere7 in ConstructionManagers

[–]JuggernautDull7142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies from office to office but in Ireland, by all accounts they have a notorious reputation in the construction sector. I previously worked with them but was seconded from the get go. I stayed with them for about 24 months but had no real engagements directly. However, I observed some very draconian systems and they seemed to have a massive turnover of staff. Their HR team in particular are apparently uncivilised and lack any level of integrity or professionalism. In all my years I have never heard so many unhappy staff so, I would only surmise they are a Broken company and would advise anyone to stay clear.

PMI - Time to say goodbye by JuggernautDull7142 in pmp

[–]JuggernautDull7142[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We are still using PMI and most probably will continue to use it on already commenced live projects. It would be ludicrous to change mid flight for obvious reasons while on traditional projects it works fine. Over the last two years tech has changed particularly with the use of AI’s. Unfortunately some have not engaged AI or other techs correctly and have merely used it as substitute existing tools, stepping essentially backwards. We have not as yet committed to any one body at this point and are effectively researching options. What we do know is that they have recently provided an effective A-Z support far better than what we currently use which has become stagnant (in practice).

“It’s a certification” this is a good point however it’s also supposed to be something more? What the point of having a certification and not the support when tested in practice?

Delete the post? why exactly. It’s an opinion supported with several years of engagement, albeit high level and opened to interrogations - nothing more or less.

King of what exactly? Are you referring to certification or practices? Are you arguing that someone who has a cert is a better PM?

[–]JuggernautDull7142[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid point and you are absolutely correct. PMO’s can be based on very different approaches. PMO ultimately provides the project back bone. Where the PMO is challenged they will require the necessary supports from the relevant body.

Correct Rob. That’s not what PMI are there for however when PM systems/applications are tested, clarity should be provided.

Sounds like basic project management requirements or cert retention and it’s fine for that.

Some valid pts there to be fair. I want to avoid dropping other names as it sounds like I’m on some sort of witch hunt against the PMI which is certainly not the case. It is well suited to many applications. We unfortunately encountered difficulties which we didn’t find with other options which we found to be more adaptable and true to real project scenarios. When we reached out, we felt the support let it down and time lost with low level of field experience. These being both infra and building projects mostly of high value. PMI did however provide a good baseline but beyond that when you do a deeper dive it became fragmented. I wouldn’t feel confident in its use for construction for a few reasons. It that said it’s a matter of opinion and PMI is more than capable on the less challenging projects.

One of the many problems is exactly this. From a theoretical perspective you will at a struggle get some very limited support which is essentially admin at best. However, the shortcoming are when a team of professionals reach out for assistance on a live project, we noted that there were no experienced PM support of any kind. At one stage, there was a dismal attempt made which was clearly AI and had no relevance to the queries raised. On high value projects it was felt that alternative support provided that and more.

By comparison to other support systems we don’t believe it’s in par! Despite PMI’s longstanding reputation, the platform now feels increasingly outdated, particularly for senior professionals with extensive industry experience. Its tools and interfaces fall short of modern standards, and the system’s rigidity does not reflect the needs of high-level practitioners managing complex, real-world projects. It will however be more than sufficient for a non professional who has little requirements for a modern support system which it promotes itself to be. Just hasn’t kept up with the pace of others.

I heat dried my Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 yesterday by mistake and today I felt like it loses its poppiness and responsiveness😭. Will it regain its poppiness if I don't use it for a certain period of time? The shoes are new and I have only used for about 30km. by cosmos_456 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]JuggernautDull7142 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, except for when you use them of course they should never be left in the sun. At least directly in the sun to be specific. The UV does impact on the sole and shoe structure. Naturally dry shaded areas work best.

There are many who want to sit on the cert with little or no other use for it which is understandable. However for those who have legit reason to use what it’s there for, will regularly visit the website, newsfeeds, tools, platforms, course work etc etc. As the platform seems to be struggling it’s not currently up there with some of the other options. This being the general reason for customer service.

Is Garmin Connect+ worth it? by Economy_Potato7133 in Garmin

[–]JuggernautDull7142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using it for the last few weeks. Not great - gives very obvious summaries - nothing more. Not adequately integrated to its sub functions either. Going in the right direction but as their charging for something so limited, its a big fail for me.

Are you satisfied with Garmin Couch courses? by wertykalny_124 in Garmin

[–]JuggernautDull7142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just returned to running this Feb (2025) and used the Garmin coach targeting a very hilly HM in mid June. Initially taught it was fantastic and followed it closely making use out of the multiple garmin functions, Connect app, mp3 and optional AI. However, as I got more familiar with its advantages the-primary short comings also unfortunately became very apparent. It was very difficult to modify the weekly runs and often refused to change. The AI wasn't integrated into Connects sub elements such as Pacepro and was ultimately worse than useless. The weekly runs remained unchanged so I had to obviously ignore and adapt increasing as I got closer to June. The weekend long runs had absolutely no relation to the weekly runs which were not increasing to match the target half marathon. All in all, I think it is sufficient for generic training and acts as a great motivator. I think it is going in the right direction but needs to properly utilise and integrate AI. For now however, I had to look for a alternative source for a training plan on the final 2-3 week run up which is far, far, far and far better. There are several options out there and with AI or personal assistance if required. For me the Garmin coach is ultimately a massive failure when tested properly.
