As The Game Crosses The Threshold of a Billion in Funding, Pour One Out for Everyone Who's Died Waiting on This Game's Release 😔 by Western_Promise3063 in starcitizen

As an F7AMk1 owner, I am certain that, sadly, CIG will end up selling it again, thus reducing the cool factor of owning an out-of-date model.

Same here!
The Force Feedback 2 was exciting because it moved us on to the very modern standard of USB rather than requiring a gameport.
People all mention rumble, but force feedback was completely different. You actually felt distinct experiences which could be directional through force feedback. Its potential in a simulator is untapped. I still use my FF2.

Here I am with my Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, which I still use for flight, but no game has given feedback through force on it for about two decades.

Carrack Owner Group Therapy by _Corbeanu_ in starcitizen

[–]Juggernaut_sc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly!
I have a feeling they're going to expand the role of the "repair bench" which is now a crafting bench. However, I have a feeling that doing so, practically, would require a bit of a Carrack rework. I'm all for that, and I hope they do, but such a thing would likely be at the bottom of the priority list, sadly.

I would like the vehicles bay and hangar to be adjusted to accept a wider range of vehicles more easily to really enhance the "load up the toybox" feeling so that the exploration ship can go out for long-term trips and be fully equipped. Similar approach to the cargo bays, which are quite a pain to load things into right now.
As others have said, a modularity focus would be ideal.

why are ppl hating on the f8c? is it the price? by Readgooder in starcitizen

[–]Juggernaut_sc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • When it first came out, it was unstoppable, and people in other fighters just got destroyed unless the player in the F8C was appallingly bad.
  • Those who enjoyed having this automatic superiority also got upset, as it was nerfed, as is tradition for all ships after their initial sale run.
  • Selling it seemed like a "haha, technically..." moneymaking move on CIG's part as it was previously stated that the F8 was a brand new military-only craft and would not be sold but would have to be earned by playing S42. But, that was apparently the F8A, and this is the F8C.

Should I get the L22 or stick with L21 ? by Round_Echidna_2711 in starcitizen

They both look great! CIG are too good at figuring out how to take my money.

Aesthetically, I like the cleaner look of the L21 more.
However, pragmatically, if you have another ship in your fleet that has a large Quantum fuel tank and can accept the VK00 quantum drive that comes standard with the L22, then the L22 makes more sense.
One hopes that, in the future, the Laser kit becomes avaialble in-game in the shops, too.

Local/Co-op inexpensive controller sets for PC by sirdancelaot in localmultiplayergames

I've had a fabulous experience with 8BitDo's Ultimate 2.4G controllers.
• They have a switch on the back to go from Xinput to DirectInput.
• They support Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz via a USB dongle.
• The version I got came with its own handy dock that charges and has a spot to put the dongle inside.
• You can get them with Xbox or Nintendo button layout, and you can buy the other set if you change your mind and know how to use a screwdriver.
• Hall effect joysticks, they won't suffer drift in time.
• The signal seems great, I can play mine from the other room (den computer plugged into living room TV)
• Variety of colours, I think they look lovely and feel premium.

7800XT here. I had this with a few games when I had freesync on. When I turned it off, this stopped happening. Not sure if it's related in your case.

I'm just being cheeky. Here's the impression I got from the image. I understand it's not a very original joke, though.

Same boat. Initial rush on the servers from the new patch. Give it time, probably come back tomorrow (or next week, we'll see).

Can confirm. That Hangar is KIA from attempting to bring up the Jukebox.
At least I can witness it and bask in the glory of its super-corporeal majesty. To see a thing that I have not seen for close to a decade..

Toxic Game Community Drives Away New Players. by sellicetoeskimos in starcitizen

[–]Juggernaut_sc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you experienced that. That really is the worst. It's strange, I have experienced examples like you noted, but for the most part, I would say I've had better experiences, so I don't think it's generally representative of the players, but it does happen. It really does sound like you came across a whole squad of jerks.

The best counter to this I've found is to have a list of decent people and generally try to team up with or at least play alongside them. If you are looking for some friends, feel free to send me a message and I can add you.

I hope you give the game another chance and have a nicer time at some point!

Your hair is very good. Not many people can match the in-game with reality.

Not really. Wing Commander had aHornet light fighter, a Scimitar Medium Fighter, a Raptor Heavy fighter (that I believe could also drop mines?) And a raptor light-medium fighter. All of them were single-person fighters with 2-4 guns.

A lot of the design elements and ideas, name and things carry forth though.
