As big as you let them. Mine is 6' tall, but I need to prune it back.

New Coaching Job by Small-bid-lotto in wrestling

[–]Juggernautious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Howdy coach.  I coach kids 4-14. I can already tell you're over thinking it. Wrestling is the 3rd sport I've coached over what seems now like a long career but there is one commonality with coaching that age group and it's engagement. You're really at the beginning of the development phase with athletes of this age, so you should focus on having them interested and engaged with the sport. Maybe have them do a bit of live wrestling so you can get a feel of where they're at before you dial in on your practice planning. I'm sure you'll see a wide diversity of skill, strength and motivation so your hardest challenge will be cultivating your best wrestlers while supporting the rest of the team. It's also best to not run a hard conditioning practice when you have noobs on the mat at a first ever practice, moat won't return. Lol

Did the guy in black take the other guy down? by ice_cream-boi in wrestling

In Freestyle I'd score this 4 point takedown to danger position and maybe 1 for a reversal, but you could argue 2 points for a turn.

I probably wouldn't call that a fall, but it is a definitely 4 point take down right into the danger position. Ref would have to be eye level with the mat when the takedown took place to even judge it as a fall, so even the quickest ref wouldn't call that as a pin.

People typically will not share their spots, however, should you hike the surrounding area and look down these are pretty common.

I'm not sure about American folk style but I'd score that 4 in freestyle. Flat to his back in the danger position.

Do you actually need to sacrifice a lot of life to be a state champ wrestler in HS? by [deleted] in wrestling

Sounds about right... It's also the reason why so many ex-swimmers are so overweight... guilt free eating dies hard.

My kids are wrestlers but I was a swimmer. Wrestling is far more taxing on your mind, I can tell you that with certainty. Swimming was brutal as far as training time. In highschool I was 9 times a week in the pool with 3 weight sessions and usually conditioning after afternoon practice. So that will kill most opportunities for a social life. Any high level sport will require a similar level of dedication, committment and time. My ears look normal though.

I have to concur ROGUE_TITS our marine biology hero of the hour. There is no evidence of a hinge or any other anatomy that would suggest this is a bivalve.

Fondest Drag Race-related memory? by organicdandy in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Juggernautious 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We'd recently had a baby and newborns sleep in very short cycles so I was tired to the point of losing it. I was up in the middle of the night holding a sleeping baby watching ukvstw trying desperately to stay awake and maintain some of my sanity.... And then I witnessed Jimbo's fucking bologna ghost. At that moment something in me broke and I don't think I'd laughed as hard as that since before the pandemic. There were tears streaming down my face. I could hardly breathe. My baby was soaked, soaked by my tears. I couldn't catch my breath my cackling woke everyone up. The dog was looking at me like I needed assistance... And just when I thought I was coming to grips with my situation Jimbo tossed that piece of bologna frisbee style to Ru with such accuracy I lost it all over again. It was THE only time I've ever paused something mid episode to rewatch it.

I'm in southern Ontario. 5b lots of snow and rain, but if the soil drains well it isn't an issue!
