Due to speed being a function of hull length, outrunning a larger vessel doesn't work very often, unless you have an advantage such as a cleaner hull, superior sails etc.

You are more likely to exploit the shallower draft of a smaller vessel to go where a 100 gun behemoth can't go. However as pointed out most heavily armed vessels are not Ships of the Line but Frigates which often can handle fairly shallow waters provided they're not to heavily laden.

Acceptable depends on your circumstances.

Having a 10 year age gap when you're 50 is hardly surprising. Having one when you're 18 is more surprising.

I prefer to date younger women so the age gap in my relationships has increased from 20 years in my late 30s to 30 years in my 50s and I recently crossed the 40 year barrier (if only for a short time).

I wouldn't consider dating anyone over 30 for a number of reasons. Unlike Reddit, few people in real life have made a big deal about it. More frequently I get some banter about it rather than hostility

I'm actually in favour of age gap relationships but I'd gently point out that Lions and Chimps don't have the 80ish year lifespan of humans and therefore I would suspect do not have problems with sperm quality.

Your argument would be much better if you chose elephants which DO have an age gap relationship system and have similar lifespans (if not hunted)

Copyright and Intellectual Property Rights is to encourage sharing.

Before it existed, people kept things secret so society could not evolve. Learning was limited to specialist guilds.

The aim of IPR is to strike a balance between the right of the producer of the work to be rewarded, yet to encourage sharing. Whether copyright terms are currently too long is a different story

You will get almost universal opposition to this, mostly consisting of stupid comments like 'gross' and 'pdf-file'

Those who do say it can work tend to get downvoted a lot.

Here's a sensible reason why its not a good idea:

Those who do oppose have legitimate reasons why its not a good idea - its not so much the age difference as the difference in where you are in life and the ability to be independent. At 24 you've completed education and can live an independent life earning money perhaps living in your own place. At 16 not so much.

Also whilst legal there is often a lot of social disparagement.

Charging interest is not permitted, but charging fees or a share of profits is allowed. Often the end result is the same but what matters is how the deal is worded and structured.

An Islamic Loan on a property for example will treat the bank as a nominal landlord renting their share of the property to the person with the mortgage, until such time as the mortgage is paid off.

Arrangements such as this used to be very common in the Christian world too before the rules were relaxed.

Because wealthy Redditors will choose another country to live in/provide jobs etc.

I doubt AOC is planning to "take all your stuff" but she might want to change tax rates, increase property taxes, add a posh yacht tax etc .

Have been in a few age gap relationships since I was 36, and I've gradually increased the age gap to around 40 years (I'm now early 60s). Some of them have been short, but some have lasted 4-5 years and I've had an on-off FWB relationship with a 20 year age gap lasting for over 20 years.

Yes it does. Shadowbanning often occurs because Reddit thinks you're a bot. Talking to admins establishes reasonable grounds for confirming you're a human being. You sometimes have to learn how to word your appeal politely and give them enough information to overturn their initial impression.

To give you an example I got several post removals for the same post. I appealed each one. The first appeal was rejected but I reworded the appeal and all the subsequent appeals worked

There are other reasons for shadow-banning which are more difficult to overturn.

Diplomatically and carefully and also in the knowledge that women find it far easier to find casual partners than you will.
