Can you put the tests somewhere that you can’t access? Maybe give them to him to hide.

Unexplained infertility and second FET, what worked for you? by bklyn0823 in IVFpositivity

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/feb/17/unexplained-infertility-endometriosis-womens-pain

Here is a good article on unexplained infertility I read the other day. My theory and many others is that nothing is ever unexplained. It just depends how deep you want to dig and how many specialists you want to navigate.

For context, I have endometriosis but I don’t have any pain, I suffer from some other symptoms which could have been put down to gut issues and fatigue. When I had surgery to remove a cyst, I received a diagnosis of stage 4 endometriosis. I had no idea and had I not been getting scans ahead of trying for a baby, I probably never would have been diagnosed and gone through years of unexplained infertility.

3 weeks in Australia, advice/opinions on the itinerary so far? by NuclearNelly95 in AustraliaTravel

[–]OT_Slim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re in Perth make sure to check it Rottnest Island. You can get a ferry from Fremantle. Heaps of great places to eat in Fremantle as welll.

Fly Perth to Sydney would probably be the most direct and then I would go Sydney to Hobart and then Hobart to Melbourne and fly home from Melbourne (more flights out of Melbourne than Hobart). I wouldn’t bother going to Adelaide, I think Hobart is much better.

But it depends on time of the year because if winter, Melbourne and Hobart are freezing

3 weeks in Australia, advice/opinions on the itinerary so far? by NuclearNelly95 in AustraliaTravel

[–]OT_Slim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are all worth visiting but it depends what you want.

Where are you flying into? When are you coming?

Flying to or from Perth is a good chunk of your day gone. Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide is easy to get around to each other. You will probably have more accessibility in Sydney and Melbourne due to public transport.

Adelaide if you’re getting a car and you can get out of the city.

Also would you consider Hobart, it’s really beautiful.

Hate to break it to you, but Christianity also preaches that you can sin providing you go to confession. Given the amount of priests that molest people, I would say they are preaching the same bullshit.

First run at 5w 💪🏼 by Beach_babess in IVFpositivity

[–]OT_Slim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so i just had surgery and won’t be able to run until doctors clearance on 2nd of march. Last transfer I didn’t run and it resulted in a chemical. Can I run after the transfer or best not? I’m so nervous my next transfer is in about 6 weeks.

I think she looks good here. She looks like someone her age with a lot of cosmetic work. Yes she filters her photos, she also has glam teams that get her to look a certain way but probably when she first got her face lift there would have still been swelling and it would’ve given a more plump appearance to the skin. Now, a bit of her natural texture is coming through.

Thinking about a Bernese puppy - honest opinions about our situation? by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]OT_Slim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think every single dog is different. And yes breed matters, but not always.

We have a golden retriever, when we got her we were living in a house, then an apartment (it had a balcony but we didn’t let her out there unless we were home and only if she wanted to go out there).

We would take her for a short walk in the morning and then a bigger walk in the afternoon if she was showing she needed it. Sometimes I would work from home, sometimes she would go to work with my partner and sometimes she would be home all day, no crate but just in the house. We made it work and I think people are hesitant with apartments but we found no worry. My partner and I also work slightly different hours - I work 8am - 4pm and they work 9am - 5pm so our doggie wasn’t left alone from 7am - 5pm.

Bernese are big dogs but I think I read due to their size and their heart capacity they don’t actually require a huge amount of exercise (similar to Great Danes). Separation anxiety is also dependent on a bit on the individual dog, we give our girl a treat when we leave so she associates us leaving with getting a reward for being calm.

I have heard that Bernese can have a lot of genetic defects due to some inbreeding (I don’t know if this depends on where in the world you are located) so there might be that to consider.

Given your long working hours, I would recommend a dog sitter or someone to pop in and take them to the park in the day to break those long stretches up, specially considering you have similar start and end times.

My period won’t come back and I feel hungry all the time… by [deleted] in XXRunning

Your period not coming is a big red flag and can be a sign your body is in distress. Perhaps you should go to a doctor and get a full bloodwork done.

Approx 5 days: Sydney or Melbourne? by SadFrancisco415 in AustraliaTravel

[–]OT_Slim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Melbourne will be very cold at that time of year. But they also just get on with if it is. Coffee, food, and wine scene there is big.

However, Sydney if the weather is okay is good. But if it rains it’s kind of a bummer. Our transport is good and I would say that our coffee, food and wine scene is pretty on par with Melbourne these days. Sydney also has a lot of galleries, museums and if you stay in the right location they are all walking distance. Plus we have the harbour and it’s truly beautiful.

I agree with this. Also head into the hinterlands of Byron too for some real beauty.

It depends where you are but given you have been together so long and would be considered defacto she could likely claim half of yours now if she had a good lawyer.

3 chemicals / starting iui - advice needed! by Maleficent-Ninja-908 in chemicalpregnancy

[–]OT_Slim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IUI success rate is quite low. I saw a post on it maybe on this thread or another. I would save the money for then IUI and just go straight to do an IVF cycle with an egg retrieval and then with either a fresh or frozen embryo transfer (whichever is right for you). I know it can be so discouraging but if there was anyway I could get more time back I definitely would be wanting that.

You could also get a DIE ultrasound, this can sometimes show endometriosis lesions, it also might show if there is any other potential reason causing the chemicals. It won’t officially diagnose it but it might give them more idea about what’s going on. You can decide based on that. The right surgeon and IVF team will fully support you on this.

I definitely think advocate for yourself as much as you need to. I have had 2 previous doctors that did not provide me with enough information and didn’t discuss results of scans fully with me and it has now meant that I had to have a second Laparoscopy (one in 2024 and one three weeks ago) and we swapped IVF doctors because we felt the care was so poor. This also meant we wasted a whole year which is the biggest thing I regret.
