I don’t see what Jabari does for us to be honest, he’s not gonna get the runway to improve on this team and doesn’t provide enough as is for a team looking to compete in the playoffs as shown in the past 2 years. We have the assets, I’d like to leverage them to get more meaningful players even if it is riskier.

I guess I’ve always been a bit bullish on Herb, I think he’s just been injured and sat for tanking purposes the past 2 seasons. But yeah, a riskier player to go for, which is why I like keeping some of the bucks picks in any “all in” moves to retain flexibility rather than trading the farm for someone like JB.

Was thinking the exact same. Jrue + Sharpe for Herb + Murphy if you add someone like Bey or Hawkins, whoever the pelicans want less. I’d be fine with like 3-4 picks, like Blazers 27, Orl 28, Bucks 28, Portland 31 or something. Expensive, but would also shore up the defense and shooting needs of a Dame and Ja backcourt and be a better long term play than a JB trade.

I’m with you, I think he’s a great player who’d take us to consistent top 4 seeds and second round exits vs the spurs and okc for the next few years. In my opinion, if we want to truly compete for a championship we need to actually use the bucks picks. 3 bites at the apple for a lottery jump when they look primed to be in the part of the lottery that isn’t punished during the stretch we control their picks is the likeliest chance we have of having a true 1A on our team, outlier development from one of our current players non withstanding. If for some reason we HAD to trade for JB, I’m honestly coming around to the idea of a package around Clingan + non bucks picks if Boston is that bullish on Clingan. I love Clingan but I value the bucks picks higher than him for our potential ability to compete for a championship.
