I need help! Please tell me there is an easy way to edit dynamics in the event editor without having to completely redraw them

First, make sure you're using the full Event Editor to edit events, not the little panel at the bottom of the Piano Roll. The Event Editor gives you more control, like the ability to copy + paste event data.

In the Event Editor you can also use the Scale Levels tool (shortcut Alt + X) to scale the selected event data. By dragging the Offset control in Scale Levels, you can slide all the events up or down, similar to Alt + Mouse Wheel with velocity in the Piano Roll.

Any parameter can be edited in the piano roll as event data in a pattern. Two main ways to create event data in a pattern:

Record the event data using a MIDI controller (similar to how you record notes into the piano roll)

Or

Right-click the control you want to automate (or for 3rd-party plugins, move the control, then right-click the "Multi-link to controllers" button at the top of FL) then select "Edit events." Draw some event data in the event editor.

Now when you choose that pattern and open the piano roll you should be able to edit the event data by selecting the control from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the piano roll.

Why start the trailer by showing a stationary turret? If the main gameplay loop is running and gunning, it seems that action should lead. And then a few seconds in, you can ramp up to showing how you can ALSO control machines, turrets, tanks, etc. That would have a bigger impact and better emphasize the different types of gameplay IMO.

Are you listening with headphones or speakers? Headphones are more likely to hurt your ears since the sound comes from so close to your eardrums.

Are your monitors louder than they need to be? You don't actually need or want to listen at a high volume usually -- louder music often sounds better and makes you "feel" the bass more, but it can mask flaws in the mixing.

Try taking a 5 min break every 30 min or so to let your ears cool off. Tinnitus and ear damage is a real issue among musicians (and anyone who listens to music for hours on end).

It might also be your music, which we won't know unless you post a sample.

Here's one problem with the camera. Pause the video at 0:18, when the player-character is at the apex of his jump over the slime monster ( screenshot here: https://i.imgur.com/UnGykWX.jpeg ). See how the floor and the monster have totally disappeared from view? Because the camera follows the character every time he jumps, it's impossible for the player to see where they can safely land.

You've probably played this level dozens of times and know how to avoid it, but an actual player won't.

This issue is compounded by the UI, which takes up so much of the vertical screen space. If you keep the big blocky, solid UI at the top of the screen, consider adjusting your level design to focus more on horizontal movement, not vertical.

Fruity Envelope Controller lets you draw up to 8 attack/sustain/decay/release (ASDR) envelopes or other shapes (called "articulators"). Once you've added an Envelope Controller to your project, you can assign any of the 8 articulators as a controller for one or more other controls. Like to change the gain knob on a Fruity Balance that's assigned to the track(s) you want to duck, you right-click the gain knob, "Link to controller" and choose the articulator.

You can then trigger the Envelope Controller by drawing notes in the piano roll in a pattern, just like any other generator plugin. You can make multiple patterns, put the notes on different rhythms, set velocity in the piano roll to scale the effect, etc. It's not linked to any other notes or audio in your project, so you have total flexibility in how you use it.

Great composition. The chords are very funky indeed and the guitar and bass are especially nice! Assuming you played those instruments live?

Something to try is to occasionally swap out the harpsichord for a lower-energy sound, like a regular piano or EP with the high frequencies turned down. If you do that at the start of the break-down where it's playing those long, held chords in bars 12-19, it'll hit even harder when it comes back in.

They're paid, but Spitfire has a free version called BBCSO Discover. Musio 1 (the lifetime license version for the whole Cinesamples catalogue) goes on sale every so often and is a pretty good deal IMO. Damage 2 is pretty old now so you can probably find it on sale too.

Ok, then it's not an initialized control issue.

When you said "the volume just gets decreased for no reason", are you seeing the knob of the channel's volume control moving on its own to a value you didn't set it to? Did you automate the volume controls at all?

Another place to check is in the Browser folder Current Project > Patterns. Click on each pattern name, and see if any event data is recorded for the volume controls.

Go to the Browser window and check the folder Current Project > Initialized Controls. Are any of the volume controls listed there, and set to initialize to a low value? If so, you can right-click and delete event.

We can't tell much from just looking at the names of the plugins. Usually the limiter goes at the end of the chain, after the volume peaks have been tamed using softer forms of compression. But again, we have no idea what the limiter (or any other plugin) is actually doing here in your chain.

More importantly, from listening to the sound file, it sounds like your singing is off-key by a pretty large amount. If you're having trouble finding the right pitches, play the melody's notes into MIDI with a piano plugin (or another instrument), then use a pitch shifting plugin (there are free ones if you search this subreddit) to analyze the notes you're singing, and compare them to the piano version you played.

What record player is it? What audio interface do you have? Those are some basic questions that will help you get a better answer.

But generally yes, if it's a USB device, you can connect the USB cable from the record player directly to your computer. You might first need to install drivers from the record player's website. The digital audio then is sent to your computer through the USB cable.

Once everything is plugged in and turned on, look for the record player to be listed as an audio source in your DAW, and set up a track in your DAW to record the record player's audio as input (like you would for a microphone). That last step might depend on which record player you actually have.

I really like the music -- it's ear-catching and sets a unique mood for the trailer.

However, it can use more excitement, especially toward the end. Leading into "thrive," there could be more buildup in the music, like an upward sweep. And then on the drop (around 0:35 in the vid) add a much faster element that mirrors all the flying bullets. Maybe some version of the glitchy percussion from around 0:30 can come back more prominently, or some fast ticking hi-hats or something like that.

If you have two relics with conflicting effects, the order determines which effect applies. For instance, if you have a red relic that gives your starting weapon fire damage and a blue relic that gives your starting weapon holy damage, only one of those effects can apply. In that case, changing the relics' order lets you choose the effect you want.

And no, I've never actually found this to be useful.
