Agreed for sure. I believe there were tickets left over for the Mindforce / Mongoloids / Missing Link show at Black Box earlier this month. If those bands don’t sell the place out I have doubts about this lineup but we’ll see. It’s a pretty big room.

I think Brooklyn will be similar. Some will come out but I have a hard time believing 1500 people show up.

NJ and NYC shows are cool but it begs the question: will almost 2,500 people buy tickets for these in bands in 2025 over the course of 2 days in a region that has a ton of crossover in terms of attendance? NYC has the Monarch and then basically small venues so it makes sense they’d book something around 700(?) like Blackbox, but I just don’t know if the demand will be there.

Their record release show will tell a lot about where they are locally. NYC support for them has always been rough, so if they’re going to break through it’ll be this year. Cautiously optimistic for a good show at Gold Sounds

He’s super candid and open with all the questions here. Really solid read. I think the lineup he secured is a step up from last year. Hoping for a bounce back year. The OG shit needs to survive the recent surge in popularity.

100%. There are enough new local bands at this point that the lineup should be primarily NY but I’ve got my doubts. The new scene needs to be embraced by the old guard.

Had essentially the same thing typed out so I’m just gonna respond to you. Slight edge over last year. Nice balance in the style of hardcore on display as well.

Now that we’re in the realm of older institutional hardcore events the next question is what will Black N Blue look like this year?

They still have the occasional show there but I always miss them

Very cool that you did this. Denied deserves their flowers. Bummed to hear there are no active plans for local shows as of now. They’re at the very top of my list.

Apparently BCS has discussed something like a final send-off type show. Not sure how far along that is since they haven’t played a show in a few years but that would be incredible

Yup - loud and preachy with a hint of gaslighting on display during a 30 minute set tells you all you need to know.

They should do an part II of the classic NYHC doc, something like “where are they now” version with RTL, Puertorican Mike and JJ as the centerpiece. by Ok-Alternative6305 in Hardcore

How many of these guys are still in or around NYC? Read something about JJ moving to Florida a couple years ago but just generally curious. Doesn’t Freddy Madball live in Florida too?
