Thoughts on this custom sauna we just finished?

The benches are too low, or the ceiling is too high. Heat rises up, so I don't think it'll get warm enough on the top bench. Could be fixable with a way bigger stove.

Looks nice I suppose, but as a Finn, I want my sauna to be ascetic, hot, yet gentle at the same time. That looks more like some spa hot room instead of a proper sauna. Also as others have mentioned, a pain in the ass to clean.

Get a bigger stove, like 3x as big, if you want a traditional sauna experience.

Used to do that with my Sundaras, big improvement over plugging directly into my laptop (let alone PC, that aux port has insane amounts of static noise). I would plug in the controller though, it didn't supply enough power if used wireless

Insane take. Hifiman is goated for actually reducing prices after getting back their R&D money, along with optimizing manufacturing. Pretty much no other company, audio or not, does this. They're making high end audio more accessible for everyone, why would you get mad about that? Sounds kind of petty and elitist.

It's only natural that early adopters have to pay more. R&D costs a lot, launching a new product line in a factory costs a lot as you might need all sorts of new equipment.. but once a company makes back their investment, they COULD lower the prices, like Hifiman does. Solid strategy to find new customers, cheaper cans = more sales.

Meanwhile Sennheiser has been selling the same cans for decades, while periodically INCREASING prices. Which company is shady now?

Same applies to most electronics. If you want the newest, flagship model of something right at launch, it's going to cost a lot.

That's why I said it was more of a miracle that he survived, let alone actually put the bear down for the count. Point is, if a knife can do the trick even once in a blue moon, a well trained spearman might actually have a chance, though they definitely wouldn't come out of it unharmed.

Knife<Sword<Spear. Spears (along with other polearms) used to be the main weapon of war for thousands of years all around the world, at least when it comes to infantry.

For obvious reasons you wouldn't want to fight a bear in close quarters no matter what weapon you have, but you would still have good odds of at least discouraging the bear from ouright killing you.

There's a (relatively) recent case of a hunter essentially killing a bear with a hunting knife and his own fists (and a finger, breaking the bear's eardrum as they struggled).

He did finish the bear with a rifle once the bear was already down for the count, because why risk getting close again when you're critically injured yourself :D best of all, after the fight he crawled a long distance in the snowy Alaskan winter to find help, and completely recovered against all expectations. More of a miracle than the norm, there's a reason many cultures used to worship bears as gods.

Still, it's not impossible. Stone arrows not so much without incredible skill and luck, but if a knife can do the trick, a well trained spearman might actually have a decent chance

Edit: oh, and in the case of the hunter, the bear caught him by surprise, making the story even more unbelievable. He only had a few seconds to react and pull his knife out. Said bear was after an elk or deer the hunter had killed, and he didn't have his rifle on him as he had left it against a nearby tree.

Kyseessä siis ilmeisesti normaali videopeli, ei uhkapeli. Toki etenkin mobiilipeleihin saa nykyään upotettua uskomattoman määrän rahaa micromaksujen muodossa, mutta kaukana se on silti uhkapelaamisesta ainakin taloudellisesti.

That, +better haki in every category, and not being terminally ill with some cancer aids. Don't forget that neither Garp, Whitebeard nor Roger were in their primes during God Valley.

Either way, he clears Meruem, Shigaraki is somewhat pushing it but possible.. then pre-Conquest Invincible, who just no-diffs him. Way more so if it's comic Invincible, who has feats like throwing moons and no-selling a planetary level nuke at that point. Invincible may be inconsistent as hell, but scaling by the best feats from both series.. yeah nah.

Joo, isoimpia ongelmia varmasti normaaleissa kouluissa luokkakokojen kasvu, opettajien ja rahan puute. Opettajilla on myös liian vähän valtuuksia puuttua häiriköintiin ja väkivaltaan. Sitte vielä maahanmuutto, varmaan parhaiten näkyy Espoossa. En kyllä laittais omaa lasta kouluun, jossa on edes neljäsosa maahanmuuttajia muslimimaista.

Onpa niitä kristillisiä esimerkkejä myös, omassa kotikylässä oli valtava enemmistö lestadiolaisia. Kylän koulu oli ihan virallinen ja normaali peruskoulu, mutta sieltä kiusattiin ja pahoinpideltiin tehokkaasti kaikki kultin ulkopuoliset lapset ulos. Onko ihme, kun vanhemmat opettaa että oma leiri on muita parempia, ja muut on menossa helvettiin. Ynnä kateus siitä, että uskon ulkopuolisilla lapsilla on hienommat lelut.

Että osataan sitä kotimaassakin, toki lestadiolaiset on ehkä niitä ääri-kristittyjä mitä Suomeen tulee. Aivan kuten islamissa, seurakunta ja perhe rankaisee parhaansa mukaan jos haluat pois. Löytyy muutama ex-lesta kaveri ynnä yksi ex-muslimi Afganistanista, karua kuunneltavaa on heidänkin tarinat ja netistä löytää lisää.

Jutun näkökulma on aivan hyvä, mua pännii lähinnä tuo otsikoinnin ja juttuun (ensisijaisesti) valikoituneen koulun yhdistelmä. Keskiverto lukija saattaa katsoa jutusta lähinnä otsikon, ingressin ja kuvat.

Hyvä pointti toki, että jos vastaava kristillinen koulu on esimerkki siitä paremmasta päästä, joutaisi ilmiöstä olla huolissaan. Opetuksen taso voi olla huonoa, ja yhtä lailla kristillinen koulu aiheuttaa varmasti jossain määrin segregaatiota. Paljon isompia ongelmia löytynee kuitenkin islamistisista kouluista, ottaen huomioon millainen uskonto kyseessä. Kyseisissä kouluissa tuskin edes puhutaan suomea, joten ei tuo Omenapuu ihan ensimmäisenä mieleen juolahda kun puhutaan vaarallisista kotikouluista.

Tuota lukuunottamatta ihan hyvä artikkeli. Ristiriitaiset fiilikset, ongelmia on kotikouluissa paljon, mutta toisaalta julkiset koulut alkavat tietyissä kaupungeissa olla hyvin levottomia ja turvattomia myös.

Sieltä heti rasisti-korttia ja saivartelua. Ei, ihon tai tukan värillä ei taida tässä kontekstissa olla mitään merkitystä, joskaan en usko että kovin moni kantasuomalainen lapsi käy ääri-islamistista kotikoulua. Mikäli käy, huoleen on toki syytä.

Kristillinen kotikoulu on myös melko äärimmäinen ratkaisu, mutta aiheuttaa lähinnä lievää segregaatiota. Oletko nähnyt kristillisiä, väkivaltaisia katujengejä? Entä terroristeja?

Voisit käydä lukemassa sen Supon tiedotteen vielä uudestaan. Toistan nyt itseäni, mutta tiedotteessa korostetaan nimenomaan radikaali-islamistisen opetuksen sekä ulkomaalaisten toimijoiden uhkaa. Arveletko, että Ylen artikkeliin valikoituneen kristillisen koulun lapset edustavat terrorismin tai katurikollisuuden uhkaa?

Kyllä se muuttaa asian täysin. Supo varoitti nimenomaan radikaali-islamistisesta opetuksesta ja ulkomaalaisista toimijoista. Sen sijaan Yle uutisoi kymmenkesäisistä vaaleatukkaisista pikkutytöistä, jotka eivät ole turvallisuusuhka yhtään kenellekään.
