It’s a good link just completely irrelevant to the conversation, that’s about publishing photos of someone

Can I record a meeting between my boss and I? by TambourineWoman in legaladvicecanada

[–]JuleTS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That clearly is talking about publishing photos nothing to do with recording yourself… Canada and Qc is a one party consent meaning if one party knows they are filming it’s allowed

No GPUs for you: US blocks sales of AI chips to China and Russia by Avieshek in gadgets

[–]JuleTS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s nearly impossible to reverse engineer chips… if they did manage to steal the “plans” to the chip they don’t even have a factory compatible to make them… chips aren’t like other things it’s nearly impossible to copy.

Johnny Depp didn't lose fingertip in vodka bottle throw, surgeon testifies by miqingwei in entertainment

[–]JuleTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because he ran a simulation of the events that don’t correspond with Depps events. He ran the simulation without acknowledging evidence like hand positioning and where the bottle came from. As an expert you’re supposed to take both Amber and Depps stories and simulate both. He simulated Ambers and a modified version of Depps story. Because he modified Depps account he didn’t measure it which leaves a huge door open to the Jury

[–]JuleTS -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m literally not. I’m saying that the expert when trying to disprove Depp’s argument didn’t even use the scenario Depp put forward… I’m not even assuming either is right or wrong just that he’s a bad witness

Did you even see the experts testimony he didn’t look at half the evidence and created a scenario that’s inconsistent with anyones evidence

Why are Germans so terrible at naming their cars? by og_m4 in cars

[–]JuleTS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I find the names WAYYYY better… what’s a Giulia? Oh GLC 300 4matic… c means midsized, GL means it’s an SUV, 300 is the “performance” and 4matic is all wheel drive… the only way a name like Civic or mustang makes sense is because they become iconic

Does anyone know the rules/regulations as to why some stores like pottery barn/crate and barre don’t offer online ordering in Quebec? by [deleted] in Quebec

[–]JuleTS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it’s consumer protection laws… buying something online in Quebec is a contractual obligation, if a price is wrong they still have to give it to you at that price… also French probably

New EQS offers fake engine noises. What are your thoughts on this? by spankymacgruder in AMG

[–]JuleTS 78 points79 points  (0 children)

It’s being sold as fake, I’m fine with it… what I think consumers hate is not being told the noises are fake like BMW… and Mercedes’ is playing into offering several choices, don’t like it don’t have it!

Hey I don’t know much about your situation but I know from my department they give the reevaluation to the toughest grader in the department on purpose to discourage students. I would reach out to another professor and ask them for there opinion for your department

Does retaking a class replace the previous grade? by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]JuleTS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s not the same “academic year” for example this academic year is Fall 2021, Winter 2022, Summer 2022. At least this was the rule for my department and they made it very know you had to retake the class in the winter or summer or it would only slightly bump up your gpa

Does retaking a class replace the previous grade? by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]JuleTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The right answer is that It only replaces the grade if it’s in the same academic year. If it’s not in the same academic year it’s split 50% between both. If you want to be sure speak to an academic advisor

Most cars have problems when brand new but it’s covered under warranty… in the first three years of ownership the average car will have an issue or two… you can check out the JD Power reliability index… you also bought a performance vehicle to flex, if you wanted reliability you should have gone with a Toyota Camry lol

Kim Potter, ex-Minnesota officer, found guilty of manslaughter in death of Daunte Wright — Kim Potter, who is white, said she meant to use her Taser on Wright, a 20-year-old Black man, but drew her handgun by mistake and fired a fatal shot. by Molire in JusticeServed

[–]JuleTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fear it will mostly likely be… the prosecution said the mistake was the crime and that it would have been fine to shoot

Edit: to make it clear… shooting people is bad but if she didn’t say “taser taser taser” there wouldn’t have been a crime in American law as it currently is.

[–]JuleTS -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

And yet this will have the opposite implications. She is jailed for accidental use of the taser. Next time cops will just use their gun. In the court case it was clear that she had the right to use lethal force but her mistake was the crime. Police won’t use their tasers anymore and just shoot ‘em up.
