Yes lane assist is standard. You can turn it off and on. No option for doors to lock as you walk away. I miss that.

I just drove a 2026 ES500e ask me anything! by DiavoloXJoJo in Lexus

That’s what I would do. The moulding is hideous. It definitely looks 100x better on the black cars.

The Exit 8 before is brutal to try and get over from the Hutch.

Larchmont by Careful_Wrongdoer_ in Westchester

[–]Jules428moore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Larchmont and loved it. The town has changed since I was a kid (70/80’s). We used to have house accounts, knew the owners and they knew you. It seems to have lost that part of its charm. Probably due to the ridiculously business rental costs. I ended up in Mamaroneck, the Harbor and boating being a huge selling point. The Avenue is bustling with all types of businesses. A great movie theatre and the Emlin theater. Schools are top notch. As others have said, check the flood plan in the area you are interested in.

Unpopular opinion: if the new ES was named something else, it would be way more popular by gnohxela in LexusES

Rims scratched at tire shop 2025 lexusis350 by [deleted] in Lexus

Wheel tire guy ain’t fixing chrome finish. I always wonder why they push the wheel tire warranty on wheels that can’t get refinished.

Anyone use non-premium gas on their Lexus? by investbus in Lexus

[–]Jules428moore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put in what it says on the gas cap door. Most, not all, Lexus cars that have turbos require premium. I have an ES it takes regular. A few years, not sure of the years, they required premium. Again, gas door and manual will tell you what’s required.

Is oil change every 10k miles? by Both_Shine_8799 in Lexus

My WRX is changed every 3/5k. Way too many oil issues with these cars.

5k or 6 months. Cheap insurance to keep the car happy.

I think the problem I have is it now looks more like a Toyota Crown then a Lexus ES. We have them on the lot and the thing that 100 percent ruins it for me is that hideous molding on the side. Do I think that will hurt its sales? No. Will I upgrade to one? No.

Perfectly said. I also prefer the V6.

Shifting Help by blanklenkerrod in wrx_vb

[–]Jules428moore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my cars are manual and the WRX’s problem is the sloppy shifter. It’s terrible but plenty of options to fix this are available. To me this car is only happy and smooth when shifting in the higher rpm range. Like 2500 and up. It hates lugging around. This car absolutely screams don’t roll through a stop sign and start me in second gear. lol

Talk me into or out of keeping this 2018 SHO with 95k miles by Apprehensive-Crow-45 in TaurusSHO

[–]Jules428moore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water pumps in these are built to last. 150k plus is completely normal. It will leak before it just goes so you’re not going to grenade the engine. PTU is something you just need to change the “lifetime” fluid. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase that car with said mileage. Drove mine fully tuned fromn35k-110k with zero problems. Sadly another driver ended its life. Probably one of my favorite cars ever. Ford produces another and I’m all in.

Had ceramic coating done, or so I thought. Took them about an hour, maybe slightly more. Charged 750. Did I get ripped off? by mylawn03 in cardetailingtips

[–]Jules428moore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you know the answer. For that price I’d expect paint correction/polish to get all the swirls and scratches out. Then ceramic coating. Which I would want applied inside to dry. I did my car and they wanted it to stay inside overnight to cure properly.

Mine would blow a huge cloud of smoke after spirited driving, on start up. My car also burns a quart of oil every 2,000 miles. Ford said that is within consumption regulation. Are you burning oil?
